How to permanently remove swords in AC4
MAGLX was kind enough to show me a method for removing the dual swords permanently.

You can translate the annotations by clicking on the settings.
So basically do one of those diving bell missions that have you get back to your ship from a cave. Then when Edward disappears from getting his equipment back if you bring up the map at the right time it doesn't show him on the map and the coordinates are 500, 500 (it can take a few tries). Fast travel and some of your weapons will be missing.
With the patches you only lose your swords and pistols, but according to MAGLX without patches you also lose the blowpipe and hidden blades. So there you have it. No more worrying about looking too flashy with dual swords hanging by you.
I just got a message from someone on Gamefaqs. Claimed that on the Xbox One (obviously the Ezio trilogy) he was unable to reequip swords in Black Flag (I think he said it started in the captain's cabin). Even replaying the memory where Edward gets his swords back didn't work. Anyone else had this problem?

Unable to reequip swords? Nope, I've never seen or heard that before, I can't even imagine how could that happen.
