Hello.
I'm new here.
I brought cookies.

Dude! Thanks!
*eats one of the cookies*
Ooh. Real nice.
*wipes crumb from mouth*
I'm DarkAlphabetZoup. People call me DAZ for obvious reasons.
I write too much and get too excited. I also do varying amounts of journalism for this site whenever I get the chance.
Welcome! *eats a cookie*
I'm Double McStab with Cheese. *eats a cookie*
People call me... well, lots of things... Double McStab, McStab, Cheese, ... pretty much whatever... *eats a cookie*
DAZ is a liar. He doesn't write too much. That's Calvar. (jkjk, love ya Calvar!) *eats a cookie*
We all get along great here, mostly because mom (aka, LisaMurphy) keeps us in line. *eats a cookie*
Speaking of mom... we're almost out of cookies, and I have a stomachache.
Again, welcome.

also, put your link in img tags for your signature.
McStab, be careful! This is how they get you! They fatten you up and soon you can't walk, let alone Air Assassinate anyone.
Soon I'll be walking slower than the love-child of Achilles and 90-year-old Altaïr.
As long as you still have your Counter Kill, you can pretty much Turtle all day ;]
I was curious about the image system here.
I think I did try html tags, but they don't work. I'll switch to normal forum tags then.
Yum, cookies!
Welcome, Jexx!
Welcome to the site!
You may call me Phi, Digits, Ratio, Golden Ratio, Numbers, 16, Sixteen, or Oneplussquarerootoffiveovertwo. Whatever strikes your fancy, though I typically go by Phi.
Ah, who ate all the cookies?
Anyway, welcome. I'm Gerund. I'm sure you'll fit right in here, judging from your spectacularly awesome signature image and profile pic!
Oneplussquarerootoffiveovertwo
I usually refer to you as golden ratio... but oneplussquarerootoffiveovertwo might be my new favorite.
That or [1;1,1,1,1,...]
Thanks guys!
Jexx, a few things to keep in mind here (from what I've gathered in my brief time):
1 - your topics will get hijacked to talk about other things. it's nothing personal. it usually comes back around.
2 - people have arguments and discussions, and that's fine, but personal attacks haven't been tolerated.
3 - wedding gowns seem to be a popular spam to this forum for some reason.
4 - the chat is awesome, but underused (upper right)
I made a long post and put certain things in spoiler tags because I felt it was apt. (I would also love it if people would check that post out and respond to it )
I'm fine with these points.
You joined the site at a good time. We just released a compilation video of the top ten things found in AC1. Have fun joining our discussions.
I love how in these threads just about everybody active on the site stops by and says hi.
I take it that this is more of a gameplay discussion site rather than a story discussion site.
A shame for me, because I enjoy discussing the story more than the gameplay. Still would love some people to respond to my post in the free-range AC3 discussion thread, as I want to hear more people's thoughts on it and so far only one person responded on the forum I originally posted most of it on. :/
We do both.
and now i'm in the mood for cookies
Jexx, there's no where else to put this so I'll put it here.
I've enjoyed your brief existence on this website. The reason so many people are reluctant to discuss story things rather than gameplay things (in my opinion) is that we've all expressed our story opinions in a ton of other threads. At least in my case, I have nothing to add to your comments that I haven't stated already. I'm not ignoring you.
I may just be speaking for myself, but this far removed from the last game, I sometimes lose track of the story discussions or just get bored of them. I'm not replying not because I don't care... but just don't care right now. When a new game is coming out, it's all about speculation, both about story and mechanics. There will be plenty of story discussion come November, I guarantee it.
I say this, because sometimes when joining a new established forum, you can get the feeling of a good old boys club hesitant to engage the new people. I don't want you to get frustrated at the lack of discussion on the topic you want to talk about and end up leaving.
Oh, no, it's fine.
Funny thing though, I tend to leave discussion forums for a game soon after it comes out because that's when the discussion is no longer.. "fun" for me anymore. I eventually come back a couple months after. It's not really a conscious choice of mine though, which is sort of funny. But at least this way I get to avoid the people that only get interested after the new game comes out and quickly moves on.
Also, for the record, looks like we've interacted on twitter recently... not sure if you were aware... https://twitter.com/scottishduck88/status/372877046700990464
didn't know that was you.
Nah, I knew they were in AC3, but they were never introduced to Haytham OR Connor, which I thought was bad. I mean, I understood it for ACB and ACR, Ezio was already introduced to these weapons. But yea.. just putting them in AC3 with no story introduction is bad.
I pretty much never use them. Not even smoke bomb.
I personally believe that the only weapons that Connor ever used in combat on a long term basis are: the Assassin tomahawk (it's never in his armory if you equip a different short weapon), his bow, the hidden blades, the rope darts, and dual pistols.
He probably trained in the use of the sword, the ax, and especially the blunt weapons (considering his native heritage), as well as the other tools, but I doubt he used them on a long-term basis.
I assume the armory is because the mansion is in fact the headquarters for the Assassins in the thirteen colonies, and that this is also where the recruits get weapons from. I personally believe that the recruits live in the house next to the mansion that we never go inside, well, at least, that's where they live when they're at the Homestead, which they do go to occasionally, seeing as they Captain the Aquila in certain recruit assignments.
I agree with your weapon assessment of Connor.
Also, the unintroduced tools have some cool counter-kill animations... especially the tripwire bomb. You can also counter-smoke bomb to escape conflict easily. My all time favorite counter-tool though... the snare. You should try it now if you haven't.
Also, i don't tweet enough to be worth a follow, but i guess you're welcome to anyway, haha.
Thanks, McStab - you explained very well.
So yeah Jexx - story is definitely a good topic for discussion. I'm sorry I haven't had time to properly digest what you wrote earlier; I only have odd moments here and there for in-depth topic reading. When you get the chance to go through the new game, please bring up story discussions as you like!
thanks to JoeyFogey for this one in another thread -- before Jexx was a member here
you guys were talking about me before I joined?
How thoughtful.
