So I finished the main story and stuff and am in process of rounding up all the additional content. However, this requires me to find 12 (twelve!) more Peg Leg Trinkets. Now, my frontier map hasn't opened up all the way yet, but there aren't any viewpoints visible on the map. What do I need to do to get it fully in view? Just ride everywhere?

If I remember correctly, there are no maps, but I'm far from sure. I know that the icons automatically pop up on the radar if you are relatively close.
For example, if you're riding over a hill, an icon will pop up for a trinket which is in a cave under that hill.

You can buy the maps just like any other map in the game.

That's what I thought.

But if you don't want to buy maps, you'll have to get off the beaten path a bit. Not all are near enough to roads to show up on your map from just wandering streets.

There are some that are underneath hills with hidden entrances, seemingly unreachable cliffs, and some in open sections of the map that you NEVER come across in the main story mode.

Like that one on the fucking island across the lake on the north side of the map! I bought the map and was like, are you fucking kidding me?! (or was that a feather... I think it was a feather).
