Alright, so nowadays, when I play Assassins Creed 2, I'm always getting like 25 fps, which is pissing me off because I'm used to Bad Company 2 and Mw2 running at 40-50 fps.
Anyways, can anyone my performance increase? Btw, before, Ac2 used to run at 30 fps with every setting on high... now its not running that well..
I can only recommend the obvious tbh, ie, a better graphics card, more ram, closing down any programs you don't need etc, but I know that's not a lot of help, sorry. =/
If your performance is less than before, something has changed (obviously). Only you would know what that might be. It could be just one thing or several things all working together.
Have you updated the video card drivers since AC2 used to run well? Have you installed or updated anti-virus software? Have you installed any programs that remain resident in the background? Are you running any other programs, torrents, etc?
In addition to checking for the above, I recommend doing a scan and defrag of your hard drive(s), updating your video card and sound card drivers to the latest versions, making sure you have all the latest Windows updates and close any programs running in the background, including downloads and torrents. If you have the capability, do a full system scan for viruses, adware and spyware.
If none of that works, the next step is a bigger one – format the hard drive and install Windows fresh. Install your regular programs (minus the anti-virus) and all applicable drivers and test it out again. If that still doesn't help then there's likely a physical problem with your video card which, unfortunately, may become even worse over time. The only way to fix that is to get a new video card. But that's the worst case scenario.
Try out as much of the above as you can and let us know how it goes. Good luck.
I formatted the Hard drive a while ago. before i formatted it, Ac2 used to run well.. Now it doesn't
Un-format it then, duh...

After the format, did you install the same version of Windows? Something you've installed after the format is likely the culprit.
Yea, its fine. Just installed a few more drivers, and tweaked a bit with RiverTuner.
I think I'm going to post a video on how to increase Ac2 performance with River Tuner.
Have you cleaned your computer for a while?
I vacuum cleaned mine a while ago, and increased my average FPS in all games by about 5. And I don't have a very good computer.
Just be careful when vacuuming, as small parts may come off. My advice is to look on your OEM's website (Dell/HP/Acer, etc.). I managed to find instructions on how to disasseble mine, and that helped a lot during the vacuuming process. Some other people would say "use compressed air instead". I don't see why not, but I haven't done it myself, ever.
Good luck! (and sorry for thread necromancery) (:
Be careful when cleaning a computer, as you may find deceased rodents inside of your desktop.
That's how Joel Zimmerman got the name "deadmau5."
seriously?
Wait WHAAAT?!

I thought you were joking until I saw the link Daz put up.
In Hawaii I worry more about geckos getting into my electronics. They like warm, dry, sheltered places to lay their eggs. One time I powered on a CRT monitor and it electrocuted the gecko that had crawled in there. Neither the gecko nor the monitor survived the incident.
Wow. Damn man, poor gecko.. Poor monitor..
Reminds me of Fight Club, I just read the novel recently.
Y'know.. All that stuff about blowing people up using CRT monitors and lightbulbs and stuff.. Crazy..
Has this happened MORE than ONCE?!
I made some tests with ACR and here are the results :

I hope someone can help me...
