I've been seeing some stuff on the net about it, so here it is, the exploit-free way to get into the Castello. I also show how to reach the top and where a glyph should be located. (I've already done it) The vid is annotated, so I don't need to write tons of stuff here. Hope you enjoy
EDIT: Updated with the route mentioned by Massmurder and Aurel. Thanks, guys!
Old vid can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zymCxc7WdIU
Like you can do stuff in there. xD
You can go to the top of the Castello, do the glyph, and get some treasure chests.
I'm also at that part of the game in my second playthrough, by the way. I messed around a bit, but didn't find a way in without the parachute, since I don't have that yet.
I just started sequence 5 and both ways are blocked. At the end of sequence 4 they mention that they blocked off the normal way and that you need a key to get in the side entrance. So who was it that said you don't need exploits to infiltrate the Castello?

Admittedly, that would have been me. I was talking about the end of the game, though.
Oh. I haven't completed it yet, trying to enjoy the game as slow as possible before I beat it. But until I get the key I will have to rely on the parachute to get in.
Yeah, I though about doing a sideways jump at 1:36, but I figured I'd get too high and have the ledge just out of Ezio's reach, so I didn't want to risk it while recording.
Also, I preferred not to take out any guards, but that's just me being fussy about that. Guards are relatively innocent in my eyes, they get paid to do their job. Also, some people don't have the crossbow and getting exposed is such a fuss. Anyway, I'm probably just being pedantic myself here.
Thanks for the mention . I spent awhile climbing around the Castello and noticed a two things;
Sorry to really be pedantic but at 1:36 if you turn right and jump off the beam you can grab hold of the ledge (using which you climb down to at 1:44 which saves u another couple of seconds ( I apologize again for being fussy)
I also noticed how lazy ubisoft was again, the guards u avoid at 2:20 (the ones above you) by climbing round the building can be easily skipped out if you kill the two guards wth crossbows on the roof and climb up the other side as there are no guards there and you don't have to do lots of climbing. I think the only reason ubisoft put the other people in was to make the challenge of not killing anyone in the mission where u get the apple more difficult and didn't bother putting guards on the other side, so I think skipping alot of climbing and going to the other side is quicker.
Oh, wait, it was Msassmurder. xD
Video is uploading as we speak.
EDIT: ...and done.
Me? I didn't help you as far as I'm aware...?
You did? I couldn't grab onto any ledges. Oh well, I'll check and maybe redo the vid.
EDIT: I tried and it worked. I didn't know using the directional stick could yield such effects. Nicely done, I'll be sure to credit you and patrick.
Umm TLS, I just went there and it did work, unfortunately I haven't got any recording stuff yet.
It's the first of the two beams that go along to the wall and if u try and run up it pointing ur directional pad slightly to the right I got him to run up and grab a ledge which saves loads of time.
I think it more logical that they keep a way open for the glyph and stuff in there. However, we shall see, shan't we?
So at some point in the game you might not be able to get in there without the parachute.
Aurel, I think so. I've just started a new playthrough, so I'll pay attention to it.
Massmurder, it isn't possible. I've tried every freerunning trick I know, but it won't work. Maybe it'll work with a parachute, I haven't tried that.
Thanks for the frontpage!
I recently checked and the door wasn't open on my account, and the original way of getting in there wasn't blocked off yet (I'm on sequence 4 by the way). I'm guessing the way is blocked off when you need to get the key, and the door opens after you get it. And maybe it stays open after that?
I don't know, I'll take a look soon.
Very good vid TLS!!! I'll have to check it out but I think At 1:11 if you stop on the beam u just landed on and go to the right along it and then run up the wall it grabs a hold and u skip out quite alot of climbing? Could some1 else try and confirm this
Thanks! The door in the beginning is always open, I think. At least, it is during the Castello Crasher mission, as you get out of there using the door.
Is that door in the beginning always open, or just at a certain point in the game? Because if not at some time you couldn't get in there without exploits. But good video of climbing the Castello, I'm sure this is one of the most frequently asked questions about the game. It's good enough to be frontpaged in my opinion.
