The embarrassing truth: your worst multiplayer performance

I'm not too good at multiplayer. Even when I'm not getting killed by techniques that I can't even access yet (poison, templar vision, etc.), I die much more often that I kill.

In a three-team match three or four days ago I must have had my partner (an all-capital name involving Kali; sincere apologies if you're reading this) tearing his hair out when he suffered the burden of getting 2500 of our partnership's 2600 points. I got one little kill and met my own death 7 times.

But my worst performance, point-wise, came teo days ago when I finished an 8-player contest with a grand total of zero. No kills, three deaths, and no chances to escape and pick up a few points for that (one thing in my favor is that I can generally escape really well). No, this time I was 8th and last, and the experience bar after the match, that usually shows how much progress you made, didn't budge!

It's too bad that your experience doesn't scale based on the levels of the people you kill. The base value for a kill might always be 100, and that's fine for contest scoring where all the participants are equal, but for experience points, I'd much rather see a small reward for killing someone whose level is far below yours, with a bigger one if they're higher. It was very satisfying for my newbie level 10 self to kill a level 50 agent for the first time!

So what's the worst you've ever done in multiplayer? Zero-point games; getting killed in the final seconds, etc. Tell me I'm not alone in my incompetence!

I finished second once. Man, that sucked! Puzzled

Just kidding. There are many times when I've failed tremendously. Worst of all, all of them happened within a 20-hour timespan, in which I played MP nonstop with a couple of friends, constituting of my only MP experience, so all my brilliant moments are in there too. In any case, it gets kind of hard to remember all the actions I performed, so let's just go with me not being a brilliant MP player. Tongue

In manhunt I do some stupid stuff like going for double stuns right at the end of a match, or hanging aroung to gloat over a stunned opponent and i get killed with 0:01 remaining which is ridiculously incompetant!

previously massmurder.

The level of my playing usually switches between Bad, Ok, and Good. Sometimes, if i'm lucky i can win with 2nd or 3rd place(i've taken the lead a few times but i usually get knocked down by the end of the match).

I use the hidden gun a lot so i usually end with atleast ONE kill.

Good days and bad days, right? Earlier today I fired up the multiplayer again, and actually finished with more kills than deaths. In four matches, the kill-death totals were something like 3-5, 6-4, 6-3, and 7-5, with that third one having twice as many kills as deaths and netting me a best-average bonus. Contributed just fine in team play.

The chest-hunting game confuses me completely; I have no idea what we're supposed to be doing. One of the reasons I was so bad a day or two was that I had to play that for the first time and didn't know what the goal was. Never saw a chest, even!

The deal with chest capture i think is that the Chest Stealers can see the chests but not the Defenders. As a Defender your main job is to stop them before they get to the chests.

At first i thought it was like a control point type game but once the "capture" meter fills up the chest disapears.

That reminds me of one of my favorite quotes. One of Michael Jordan's teammates said after a game, "I'll always remember this as the night Michael Jordan and I combined for 70 points." He had scored 1 point and Michael Jordan had scored 69 points!
