When starting the first assassination mission, the game informs you there are ten entrances leading into Notre Dame, and a secret entrance. This video details that.
0:20 The most basic entry, the front door. Used a smoke bomb to avoid a direct confrontation with the guards.
1:38 The secret entrance (a definite must when Notre Dame gets rebuilt). An underground passage leads from the church to a well. Can only be used during this mission. I think these tunnels also play a part in a coop mission.
Up until this point I had practiced a little on roaming the inside of the building and showing entrances. Everything afterward is improvised. That's why I had trouble climbing directly to the second floor. Thought I could easily get up there from the pillars and had to edit out nearly a minute of embarrassing pointless climbing.
3:36 An open window.
4:11 A locked window. Key needed for locked windows and doors.
4:25 Another locked window.
4:44 Another open window.
5:23 A locked door. This leads to the cleric outside who's key was stolen. Approaching from this way, I was unable to interact with him as usual. Normally Arno would have opened the other door with the cleric thanking him and walking inside, but in this case nothing happened.
6:18 The second locked door. Right after I drew out my sword to see if it would spook the cleric, but he was still waiting for the scripted way of opening the door.
7:24 Another locked window. If you're going to loot the key right away, this is the best locked entrance to use, seeing it is the closest one nearby as well as the closest to the target before he starts moving.
7:38 Another locked window.
7:53 Another opened window.
As a bonus I threw in an assassination. Used the brute guard near the altar as a lure to get an air kill from a good height. I prayed the target Sivert would be in range for the prompt.
Where do you obtain the keys to open the secret entrance and locked doors/windows?
Where do you obtain the keys to open the secret entrance and locked doors/windows?
Only one key, and you don't need it for the secret entrance. I didn't bother showing Arno obtaining it because it shows up as an optional objective, stealing it from a guard.

Huh. I seem to remember going to the secret entrance and not being able to enter for lack of a key. Maybe it wasn't during this mission, though.

Okay, I know about that key. Presumably it was stolen from the Cleric who waits between locked doors #7 and #8. Ordinarily, if you approach from the outside, the stolen key will unlock either door. Is that right?
Yep, that key. Opening door #8 the scripted way plays out like a cutscene.
Hell yes, Aurel comes through again. Super happy about this, thank you for making it. Unity's recent revival has got me making a bunch of content and seeking it out lately.
