I don't know if there has been a similar query before, but here goes:
I'm getting AC2 for Christmas but when ordering, my benefactor found two (2) versions available : US and Asia.
Being an Asian, I suppose I should get the Asian version, but the US version is about $20 cheaper.
The same query has been posted to this site, but the answer's a bit vague.
So ultimately, the US version was ordered and I am now waiting for the parcel to arrive.
Now I'm worried that the US version may not work with an Asian PC
Do you guys have an idea on the differences between the US and Asia versions of the game? I believe both of the versions are in the English language (the Japanese version is another thing), so replies on more "technical" differences are much appreciated. (e.g. different servers, region-specifications, lesser content, etc.)
My experience from this is (I'm from Sweden):
Any PC can play any game from any country (if the computer is good enough).
Consoles have restrictions about this.
As for additional content, the only difference I can think of is if you buy a White or Black or Game of the Year Edition (google this, I am not sure about if this is available in Asia).
However, when I installed my copy of ACII, I could choose from a number of languages, but I can't recall Japanese being one of these. That might be a slight difference in the USA and Asia version.
On the other hand, the game is made by English speaking people (Canadians), so I THINK that the game would be available in English too.
Do you speak or understand English good? If you do, I would strongly recommend the USA version, because in the game the dialogue is very well written, and you might even learn a few words.
I know that the Asia version has different cover art, so MAYBE they put a lot of effort to make the game as "Asian" as possible (well dubbed, etc.)

I wish I had a benefactor.
I wish I had a benefactor.
I think you do! You live in Hawaii!
Thanks for sharing, Slembroccoli!
I suppose it's probably a matter of packaging or some minor detail.
I just received the game yesterday, and I'm off to see for myself.
Thanks again~
LOL. Well good luck with that.
In my case, my girlfriend got me the game as a Christmas present
