Hello to all,
They are everywhere and seem to pounce just at the wrong time, and so here is a video dedicated to scaring them off quickley. Once the begger is scared off, sheath your blade quickley to avoid unwanted attention. I hope this helps some people.
You can also just wait until they're directly in front of Altair and hit / while you step forward into them. This way they don't make a scene if you're going for a more subtle approach.
yeah, I have tried that often. Trouble is they come back and beg for more, I would be more than happy to give them money but Altiar has knifes in his belt instead. Damn, it did not embed... Anyone know why???
Delete the part of the link before the = sign. You don't need that to embed on here.
Also, remove the &feature=channel part from the video ID.
Thanks for the tip!
I usually just run away xD
When I'm playing ACII and ACB, I hate it when those minstrels (lute players) come up in front in me and start playing their ridiculous tunes. The beggars just lean on a wall and just hold their hand out. Sometimes, I toss them money out of pure sympathy. The minstrels, however, are another thing. Sometimes, I:
- high-profile assassinate them with the hidden blade in an upright standing position (plunging it in their face)
- bonk them in the head with a mace
- throw money
- punch them or unsheathe my weapon (this usually increases my my notoriety by about 25%)
Is it possible to take their musical instrument away from them and hit them with it?
in ACII and ACB i....
F*CKING RUNN!!!
or
PUNCH THEM !!!
Usually when moving around the city, I tend to sprint and try to avoid bumping the crowd. Or I will simply just climb the roof. So while sprinting, I saw a minstrel running towards me, what I do is I'll release the jump key, that makes Ezio run in slower pace. This will knock them to the side and they'll just run away. And I press jump again and resume my sprinting.

Yes, when you scare them they drop it, then you just have to pick it up and run after them. It is considered a mace so you might hear a few metallic sounds as you teach them music your way (just like the broom).

I've heard this as a rumor, but never have I been able to do it.
You can definitely wield the lute as a weapon. Can't remeber exactly when I did it but it did work.
Lies! D:
Otherwise I'd be doing it all the time. Every attempt has failed. :'(
Weird... I just tried again in ACII and it didn't work. You can definitely pick up brooms or any garden tool the farmers use though. In ACB perhaps ?
i think its in the ac2 carnivale mission where you can wield a lute.
Its not just Ezio that can wield them, if you scare away a lute player and then start a fight, then disarm a guard, he will pick up the lute and start attacking you with it.
One of the funniest moments I had playing Assassin's Creed II was during the assassination of Marco Barbaringo and I was attacked by a menacing Brute violinist. He actually got a good two shots on me before I stopped laughing and took him out.
I wonder if it would be possible to disarm a guard once he has picked up a lute, then kill him with it. That would be a sight to see...
Lutes from those bards can't be wielded, but there are those small violins that can. You have to go to one of those places where there are a bunch of singers.
I usually just run away xD
that made me LOL

I never noticed a difference, but I'm assuming you're right.

It's Aurel, of course he's right.
lol I knock the lute out of the minstrels hand and they look at me like ._. why did you do that
I guess there's no way outside harassing / hurting them. (Altair doesn't have a coin purse unlike Ezio)
I hate it when beggars foil stealth boss assassination attempts. >_<
From what I remember the beggars really were very persistant and I always hated them when they threw rocks at Altair as you are trying to remain discreet. It is quicker to shove them/punch them etc, but I think it's best just to gently push past them. Then when you have a clear gap ahead of you, bolt it into the nearest alley and or group of people.
