Okay, so AC2 and AC:B have day/night cycles and a time of day is stored in the savegame file. When you load up a particular save, it always sets the day/night cycle to the same point.

In AC2 it was easy for me to control what time was stored. If I wanted a morning savegame (a good choice for feather videos) then I'd wait until morning, do something that caused a save, and then back up the file to a memory unit.

For some reason this doesn't work the same way in Brotherhood. I currently have a nighttime save that I've been trying to convert to daytime without success. Doing things like renovating a shop or collecting money from the bank have no effect on the time of day in the save file. Quit, reload, and it's night again.

Does anyone have a clue as to what does affect the time of day in the savegame? My next guess would be that it's the time you completed the previous story mission. I haven't had a chance to test this theory.

Calculate the amount of time taken to complete a full day/ night cycle. Make a movie of it. Then take screen shots of the background every "X" amount of time (X= Time taken to complete cycle / 6).

Also post up the actual time when you started recording and when you stopped. Give as much info as you can.

Then we could possibly find a pattern...?

You may say I speak only about the speedrun. But that's what I'm doing these days.

Anyway. I had to do some researches about day/night cycle in the game, because the future recruits don't appear at the same places. As already said (and noticed in the ACR run), a savegame hasn't a specified time. It depends on either the real time or the time spent in the game (or if you're inside a memory); the important thing is it's not constant.

Nevertheless you can manipulate that. I discovered that you can replay a memory with a given timeline, and exit replay mode; you are then at the aforementioned (?) timeline. My example is S2M1, but I don't know what happens if you don't push "accept".

Don't hesitate to ask some questions, or to point out my english mistakes if necessary.

This turned out to be a pain. I recorded all flag videos in full daylight so the viewer could easily see what was happening. My savegame for the Vaticano district always loaded at sunset. So before every take I'd have to wait for sunrise. Sometimes I'd go stand on a roof and watch the moon go by.

I don't understand. Do you mean if a story mission is set at a particular time (say noon) you can start to replay the memory, exit immediately, and it will be noon?

That's how I'm reading it. Playing a night mission and exiting = night. Playing a day mission and exiting = day.

Yes, you're right, Double McStab. Maybe I should improve my english level.
