So, I can't find the topic, but I remember seeing it discussed.
Desmond/Altair/Ezio are right handed. The hidden blade is on their left hand (primary hidden blade for Ezio), freeing up their right hand for melee weapons and for silencing/controlling enemies during assassinations with the hidden blade.
Conner's hidden blade is also on his left hand, indicating he, too, is right handed, right? Not so fast.
The hidden blade is detachable, turning it into a regular knife, which Conner wields with his left hand. --> left handed
Conner carries the tomahawk and other melee weapons in his right hand. --> right handed
Conner uses his bow and arrow with his left hand to get the arrow and pull back on the bowstring. --> left handed
Conner throws the rope dart with his left hand. --> left handed
Conner shoots his pistol and other guns/rifles with his right hand. --> right handed
But wait, that last "other guns" clip shows a pistol in the left hand. --> left handed
Which is it?
Doesn't matter. He looks plenty competent with both. While fighting, he spins both ways and has both feet forward at different times in aggressive stances. (I think I only saw him kick in all the videos with his right foot though).

Just some food for thought.
He's probably an ambidextrous Assassin. Easier to murder!
His dad taught him how to be a switch-stabber.
Hes a dual wielding specialist...
He has a hidden blade on the other hand as well, according to Loomer979 who had an interview with three of the top guy from the dev team.

Thanks for that. Haven't seen it in the video, but Ezio showed you can have a hidden blade on both hands and still favor the left if you are right handed.

Food for thought:
It appears that everything but the melee weapons and firearms are left handed: all the new toys, anyway (bow, rope dart, detachable blade). Was any of this a conscious decision? Or was it done for aesthetics? You can't have everything on one side of the body. The big one is the rope dart. That seems like it could be done on either side of the body and not take up room aesthetically. And in the Boston gameplay, Conner turns from his right to his left in order to throw it with the left hand.
Also, is it reasonable to think that firearms and the stealth weapons (bow, rope dart) require different skill sets so a person would really want to aim on opposing sides of the body for them in order to have complete muscle memory for both tasks?
Conner does a lot of things primarily with his left hand. How does this affect Desmond's training to be an assassin? Or maybe he's fully trained through Ezio and only uses Conner as an information gathering vessel only.
(I know, I know. No one cares and I'm reading way too much into this. But with 143 days left, what am I to do?)
^This is giving me a headache.
Cheese, I think you're right about Desmond's training being complete. He had better be a full Assassin by now, and instead of training he has to save the world.
It would be dang cool if Ubisoft put enough depth of thought into the weaponry so that which side of the body they were carried on would affect that weapon's effectiveness. We'll see, but I kinda doubt it.
And counting the days until release isn't being overly-obsessive or anything like that; not really!
I think that Connor does favor his left, since that's where he has his main hidden blade. He's a dual-wielding specialist and seems to be somewhat ambidexterous, but the fact that his main cool spinny hiddenblad can only be on his left says something to me.
In the Boston gameplay video, Conner has TWO pistols. One on each hip for dual wielding action, I presume. You can see them when he's pretending to be prisoner.
I know I'll sound like a jerk for saying this, but we've known about the duel pistols since the first concept art of Connor was leaked all those months ago. And every screenshot of him has confirmed it. : P
That's fair. I guess I was just re-putting it out there to state that I can't draw any conclusions from some clips showing him shooting with his left and other with his right.
wow I said duel instead of dual. *facepalm*

You're all lucky I don't go crazy for the amount of misspellings and improper words I see on here. (MUST.RESIST.BEING.AN.ASSHOLE)
Joey. I give you a free pass to call me out whenever you see an error. It will give you an outlet (so you don't get too angry when you see mistakes by non-native speakers). I will not consider you an asshole.

Patrick: "Joey, you should find an outlet."
Joey: "I have plenty of outlets..."
Patrick: "I meant besides correcting McStab's grammar!"

So, you're Joey's mom now?

Oh no, my true identity has been exposed!
It would have been funnier if Lisa had written this as she's our internet mum!
Ha ha, thanks Patrick but you win THB.

Aha, I saw the word 'outlet' and had a flash of comic inspiration. I just couldn't resist.
