I wanted to make this topic, so that you can talk about the comic or manga you've been reading. anime you watch. The hole nine.

As for me, i recently finished re-reading the KICK-ASS graphic novel. One of my favorite comics. I love it because its just your everyday nerd, wanting to become a superhero. but has no training at all. and is pretty much out shinned by every character in the book. I recommend it, unless you are aginst extream voilence and a ton of sexual situations.

I've gotten into an anime called black butler. In the anime community, its underrated. Basiclly, its about a boy who has a demonic connection with his butler...from hell. I haven't watched all of season one yet. But i plan on getting the boxsets.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYiqy_EnOQg&feature=sh_e_top&list=SL - Heres episode 1 ..if your interested.

So....ummm...enjoy the topic.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

i saw the movie, that was pretty good.
is it faithful to the comic?

comics over here is very different than in america. i haven't checked but i think any regular fandom is pretty much non-existent. Manga might be a different issue, i don't know.

there are some swedish-made comics. but most are for children and none in the style of, say Batman, Superman etc. that has a full long-running story line.

Things will not calm down, Daniel Jackson. They will in fact calm up

Well story wise yes. But they did take out small parts, changed the look of most characters. And they just twisted some parts of the the story. so overall...somewhat.

Same here. I just saw another movie that reminded me of Kick-Ass. It was called SUPER and starred Rainn Wilson (from the American version of The Office). Not quite as good as Kick-Ass but if you like one you will probably like them both.

I don't read comics and didn't mean to hijack your topic, EA.

Kick-Ass was very dedicated to the comic. It was being worked on at the same time, but was encouraged by the writer of the series to be fun with it. The endings and a few major story plot points are made differently. Same with the costumes.

I like Kick A (don't make me say the full name or I'll just call it Kick Donkey) because of how it was somewhat realistic in what would happen if someone tried to become a superhero. Here's to hoping there's a sequel. Beer

As of 6 days ago, the prospects of a Kick-Ass sequel were shaky at best. Jane Goldman and Matthew Vaughn say they won't be back as writer and director.

I miss static shock. I was watching the cross over with him and batman a day ago.

I always use to watch the show when it came on.

oh, it's meant to be silly?
and all this time i thought they were just being hilariously stupid.

there is one thing in particular i remember.
a catwoman episode, where she had used a gas called katafrenik (sp?) on Robin, this gas would make anyone behave the exact opposite of how they normally act.
the effect on Robin was that he became horny for catwoman, i thought the implication of tha was hilarious.

i mean, it's been joked before that he's gay for Batman but i wonder if that was what they were trying to say or if it was just an accident.

You guys actually thought they were serious? hahaha Just reading your comments made me laugh. Laughing out loud

The only hilariously bad superhero films are from the 30s and 40s about Batman and Superman. Then fast forward to the 90s when Batman & Robin came out (it was apparently made so they could sell more Batman toys to kids). Those movies and serials tried to be taken seriously but failed. Adam West Batman was a spoof. Now you can watch in confidence, guys. haha

I've been watching these D.c. Showcase shorts. I only found two.

Jonah Hex :

and Catwoman:

Both are pretty good. I'd say the Jonah hex one was my fave.
