So you're told that if you fire your pistol at the right time, to coincide with the fireworks, you will be able to walk out of the carnival without anyone noticing you. I've played AC2 several times and I have yet to get this to work.

Is it even possible? Why did the devs give us the idea that we could do that assassination completely stealthily if, in reality, we couldnt?

I've never seen this done EVER. I think Ubi just forgot about it or something.

I was listening for explosions for ages and couldnt hear anything would stand out so obvious to make me fire.

About this mission there is something I want someone to try, but I cbf replaying the whole game.

Get near Marco undetected, and throw smoke just out of its range. He will be alerted and run, and if you throw smoke again you can poison him.

Now supposedly with this exploit, we can run as far as we want without desynching. Maybe you could escape the area before he even dies, so when he dies you automatically finish the mission

Somebody on here or AC Maps had mentioned that they tested extensively and could never get it to work. Nobody else has been able to either as best I can tell, so it's a safe bet that no such feature exists within the game.

I imagine that at some point during development it was intended to work, but dropped it as it would only ever be used at that one point in the whole game and just wasn't worth the effort to program in. That or the script writer was overly ambitious and the dialogue was left in by mistake (or they just didn't care).

They also say dont swim out to the boat, you will be spotted immediately, when you can easily swim out there

I think they put that so you would think you can kill him stealthily, but then you get caught and are in open conflict. I guess it was just a surprise in the game where you get caught. And they wanted you to use the gun, so they made up the excuse that you can time it with the explosions. Trig's nuke

I think they just wanted to force the player to use the gun, which is also supported when they say you can't swim out to the boat.

Inconspicous: because nobody suspects the guy with all the weapons

No, I'm pretty sure Ubisoft put this in the coding. Probably something where they say if the firework sound is playing, then the Ezio's pistol is not noticed.

See, I picked this up too, but I really didn't find anything weird about it. I mean, in one mission, don't you have to shoot at the same time as the firework?

Oh well, I'm currently hoping they put stuff like this in AC3. Where environmental effects actually affect your own gameplay.
