Setup
Starting from the checkpoint when you reach the Palazzo Ducale, head left to quickly reach the scene location without being seen. Hang above the scene starter while getting a guard's attention. Make sure he walks onto the ledge leading into the room. Drop down to the corner of the awning (far enough away from the center that you don't start the scene but not so much that you stumble off the awning) in the way shown in the video. Immediately throw a smoke bomb to avoid detection. Now throw a knife at the guard to move him into the room. If he isn't positioned correctly, the guard won't fall into the room, and you will have to start over. After that climb up the wall and air assassinate the guard. You will jump over the scene starter without activating the scene. Now that you're in the room you can assassinate Carlo before the scene. One of the only ways to kill him at this point is with a melee weapon. There's also another glitch: Carry his body when you activate the scene (gotta love how the Doge turns his head to look at me carrying the body) Big smile . Carlo won't appear in the scene. However he "comes back to life" and runs away as usual. The reanimation happens whether you carry Carlo or not. Since Carlo is already dead and immune to any kind of attacks there is no way to progress through the game without quitting.

A Few Other Things
Just a couple more stuff worth mentioning when trying to pre kill Carlo. Air assassinations fail; grabbing and attacks with fists as well as most weapons don't affect him; you can steal from him, but it doesn't really do anything; he can be air tackled, but teleports back into the chair; the hidden blade can't be used to kill him unless you tackled him to the ground. And it also shows how Carlo is still in the scene if you're not carrying him when you start the scene.

This was great.

My favorite part about that room (in this scene or at any other time in the game) is that you can walk around in it, but the moment you step onto the table, it brings up the "restricted area" warning.

I don't know about Aurel, but for me it's just playing around in the game, trying various things. So maybe he found that he could get a guard up on that ledge and then wanted to figure out a way to get inside. Or it started with the idea of tackling someone inside the building. All sorts of paths to get there.

...I presume the doge is invulnerable? You have to have tried messing with the doge!

Thanks to backing up save files I can replay assassinations to find out more stuff. You just have to put your mind to it. Prestaged characters are an opportunity for an Early Death.

It started out with wanting to get in the room. I wasn't sure how to at first. First just climbing around. Eventually the thought came to use a character for superjumping in there (most people probably think of superjump just as an extended jump, but in this case it was used to jump at an angle that wouldn't be possible with a normal jump). At first I lured a guard to the awning from another awning. This didn't work because I couldn't get him inside the room with just one knife. I thought if I killed him with two knives his dead body might attract another guard into the room. Then I lured another guard to that area. The dead body in the room trick never seemed to work. Stare The thought of luring the guard from hanging above the room entrance came very recently (I would have saved a lot of time if I had done that sooner).

Yes, he's invulnerable. A very long time ago I grab-moved him (after the scene). There wasn't really anywhere to move him inside the palace, and he still appeared in place for the scene afterward. Maybe if I grab-move him before the scene? Meh.

Doubt it. Have you tried knocking Carlo out and seeing what happens?

You can knock Carlo out with enough kicks, but it doesn't make any difference. Last time I was on I was trying a few more things. I had poison selected. I walked up to the Doge and the HUD had the option to poison. So I pushed Armed hand... and the game froze. That's what I get for trying to poison someone already poisoned. You can't "double poison" someone. Well, except for...

Ha ha, for some reason I started laughing when Ezio said "don't drink this" with Carlo's body sprawled over the window behind him.
Do you really think "let's find a way to do this" everytime or does it magically occur to you ? Either way good job as always.
