The Beta is just full of kids adopting a 'run and gun' attitude; exactly what we hoped would be avoided. I'm up to Level 8 now and every session I've played has been full of annoying kids (whose stupid conversations get played, distortedly, through my TV) running and leaping about, slashing their blades all over the place.
And I must admit, I have joined them, up to a point, as not doing so means you're left behind in the game! Most of your targets seem to be on the rooftops so you're forced to climb up and kill them. Obviously this leaves you exposed and after that its easier to run around for the whole session, to avoid being left behind by the other mad-dash players who rack up loads of kills, and avoid getting killed yourself.
Its really frustrating when you want to walk around stealthily (which can take quite a while and leaves you tempted to free-run anyway) and other players just sprint past or kill you. If you join them its actually pretty fun as you all have a jolly old time running across the rooftops, unsure who exactly is chasing who, but it leaves me feeling annoyed as thats just not how this game should be played!
I know there's no set rules on how this game has to be played but it'd be nice to have some element of stealth involved. Perhaps when private sessions are available (in the full game) we could set up some sessions with a no-running rule or something...?
Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying the Beta, but its frustrating that the game has ultimately become about chasing people around madly, even before release.
Sorry for the long topic that nobody will probably be interested in but does anybody feel the same way?!
Oh and the Stun feature does not help against these people, even if you notice them running at you in high-profile, as its much slower than the Assassinate action (obviously to give the pursuer the advantage) and you soon end up dead anyway.
I've dealt with these kind of people a third of my time playing, while the other thirds with people who did the stealthy way... xD
Of course your most likely to run into ONE of these people in a game, sadly for 'em everyone would kick their asses...
The Castle is a perfect place to find stealth players, it isn't easy for excessive roof users... =/
But I like to go to the roofs when I wanna do a jump assassination, more so on the roofs where you gain 200 from acrobatics... xD;
And stun is best used with a smoke bomb, once you see someone who is your pursuer weather he exposed himself or not get close enough use the smoke bomb, then quickly press O near him and get him humiliated... =3
Sometimes this backfires and he gets the kill, but if your behind him it has a 100% success rate... xP
Also, if you noticed in the starting options there is one called Private Session where I believe won't be possible for anyone who searches games can access, only by invite I believe...
I bet this will be optional when the game is released... :3

We all (PS3 players) should add each other on PSN so we make private matches just with THB players, no noob kids. What you think?
Yeah the castle is not quite as bad but I've still experienced plenty of people jumping up and down the stairs. I've just gained the smoke bomb ability so I'll be using that right away! Thanks for the tips
And I was hoping someone would suggest that, Danpii14 I knew private matches were available in the full game so subtly hinted at THB-only matches

Hehe, so i will start. My PSN is Danpii11 but i guess i will make another called Danpii14 just like my THB nick
So feel free to add me, and if i make another PSN called danpii14 i will alert you so you all can add me again if you want.
Cool, thanks. I've added most people anyway from the other threads but feel free to add me (PatrickDeneny)
If I happen to get a code somehow il gladly join you guys

I once got three of my pursuers kill people I lured them too there, and then my own target was waltzing by so POOF! got loads of points that day... xD
And anyone here can add me, just tell me that your from THB and your added right away... :3
After playing for a few hours, im glad people are playing like this. At first I was dissapointed, how am I supposed to sneak up on my target if he is always sprinting around?
Now I have adopted a new playstyle, where I hunt my pursuer. Since everyone is following their compass and running around blindly, you can actually control where the battles take place.
By hiding near clones of myself in a remote place and NOT moving around, the players eventually make there way to you. This is because your pursuer will eventually come to you, and his pursuers will come to him, and the chain meets you because you are holding the flow up
Many times I have had my target come to me. For instance Im hanging around 3 clones. My pursuer comes along, gets confused and kills the wrong one, or I stun him. Then his pursuer kills him, and eventually my target joins the chain and gets killed by me. Also its very easy to spot your pursuer as they are always running, many times I have entered the chase sequence because they just sprint around, they run past me lost and I get escape points
Sounds like a great plan!
See, I know we would figure out how to own regardless of how people would play
I'm totally doing this come november 16
My god morph makes this plan like 10x easier
See the hard part was finding lookalikes, but you will soon see with morph you can be safe as soon as you spawn, and it lasts forever ( ie they dont turn back to their original skins)
Just know Morph can be countered by Morph, so if someone uses it near be quick to throw a smoke bomb and stun their butt... xD
Usually if I notice a player coming towards my group im able to throw a smoke before he can use morph to lure me out.
Same here, but sadly you don't always see 'em until they do morph... xD
Cause you can't stare around you all at once, sometimes when you turn a camera your pursuer will pop up on your blind spot... =P
What I'm saying is nothing is 100% perfect... ^^;
That's what makes this game fun I guess, encountering something new and unexpected and attempting to overcome it... :3
Yeah im not expecting to nail this strategy on the first week lol, if it were perfect you would come first no deaths every game, gets boring. The best thing about it is that the majority of the community don't use morph to give away your position. In fact many times I just stand there, watch some hyper dude run around and enter chase sequence, then panic and run straight past me giving me free points. As long as you work the averages on the room, most of the time you come out on top
That odd, most of my plays has left me with 4 to 5 people who can use Morph which they all can use quite well... xD
Maybe I'm just unlucky and keep running into very good players I guess... xD;
Btw, what's your current overall Rank if you don't mind me asking...? =0
18, started playing yesterday
Didn't mean level... xD;
I meant RANK as in the Leaderboards... ^^;
For example, mine right now is 1043/65464... =/
Not that high, but it's my best... xD
oh my bad, im 1537/65464
Been playing with one of my friends today (the only one of them who actually likes AC, or games for that matter). He's normally better than me on online games but tbh I think he plays in high profile too much
There was a major glitch in one of the sessions though where I couldn't stun my pursuers and they couldn't kill me. We were all standing by a Chasebreaker Gate which I thought caused the problem. I kept trying to stun my two pursuers and they kept trying to kill me. The characters moved and performed half of their actions before kind of just floating through each other. My target then turned up, got stunned by one of my pursuers and when I tried to kill him on the floor, I got no points (but I did kill him as I then saw the player running around again). He stayed on my radar as well and there was just a body lying on the floor. Eventually one of my targets killed a civilian, ending the contract, and with the second one, we followed each other round till he/she eventually managed to kill me.
Major, annoying glitch which lost us a load of time ands points and ended up with 4 of us all sort of just standing there not dying/killing/stunning
Thats pretty game breaking!
Some thing happened to me. Once we both attacked and stunned each other and it froze halfway through. One time I straight up punched them, nothing happened, and they killed me
Yeah its kind of annoying but is uppose glitches are to be expected and thats why there's a Beta Luckily it did go away but I thought i would have to quit the session. Not sure if everyone in the session was affected but it was really annoying as i wasn't assigned a new target and had two red arrows flashing on the screen the whole time
There was a moment when I was playing the AC Beta that was just hilarious...
I saw a person (which was my target) stuck halfway through the floor ... when i approached him and silent killed him I fell through the floor on the Map Castel Gandolfo 3:00 minutes left and couldn't do anything.... I felt bad because people who were looking for me couldn't spot me because somehow I glitched through the floor
so theres my story on the Beta which is alot of fun and hadn't have any problems (or glitches) after that incident
is bugs like this being reported to Ubisoft?
that's the whole purpose of a beta after all
Yeah I wondered that. How do I report them?
EDIT: There seems to be a forum on the Ubi website
Also, is it just me me or are the worldwide leaderboards not being updated? I've been in the same position with the same points total for ages now
Maybe your just that good
its annoying! I definitely have more points than that (although still not very many )
Soo....patrick, what character do you enjoyed more when playing the beta? why?
Do you have any character that you hate? why?
Note: I'm just trying to make the forum more "social". hehe

Haha. I was just thinking that the thread title now seems inappropriate as the Beta is actually pretty damn good
I love playing as the Courtesan, easily the best character, and also like the Executioner and Priest too. For me, the worst character is the Nobleman. I find him slightly weird and although the characters should be creepy and scary, he is but not in a good way. I hate the way he walks all hunched over

And i gotta love the Prowler and the Barber.....they seems to fit me from what i've seen...
Renamed the Forum
Someone that have BETA have already played with the prowler? he seems nice on the videos, but if i'm wrong please correct me..

TBH once you start playing all the characters are very simliar. The main 8 are all pretty good though (perhaps with the exception of the Nobleman) and the Prowler is a very good character. To me, he's pretty badass
So there aren't really any main differences with each multiplayer skin? Not whining, I'm just curious.
Not particularly. The only difference is the kill animations but, again, that's just a material thing.
question: what happens when a player leaves in the middle of a match.
is it like in CoD, battlefield etc where a new player will join in the middle of the game?
or is it like in Halo, Gears of War, etc where that players spot will remain empty until the game ends?
A player can join in the middle of a game, as long as the timer doesn't run out... xD
I once joined a game where it had only 30 seconds on it, didn't get much from it... xP
Yep joining in the middle of a session is pretty common. I left an Alliance mode session in the middle though. Felt sorry for my partner but i just cba to play it. Not sure what happened after I left.

that bring me to the problem i have with COD's system.
i can't even count the number of times i've joined a game only too see that the game was already over before it even loaded (i'd always end up on the losing side too)
so that can't happen?
If that happens just hang around until they replay the game, you could try be the underdog and try to snatch 1st place but it'll be a bit hard for that if they are over 4000 points... xD;
Your bound to not always get a good score when you log on at an end of a fight, so don't let that get to you... =^)
A solution to this is just make your own session and wait until people join you, sometimes it fill up quickly but most of the time it's a bit slow... ?=^/
I got myself a beta code today, it's downloading now
only like 3 days left
I got myself a beta code today, it's downloading now
Too bad you got it this late... xD;
As jack said, it's gonna end on Monday... =P
Haha, I know. I wasn't too excited about it anyway, I didn't even spend any money on it
Does the Beta finish at the end of tomorrow, the very start, or just a random time in between. Anyone know?
