SPOILER ALERT!!! If you have not yet finished the "The Lost Archive" DLC this topic may contain spoilers.

Lately I was playing Assassin's Creed Revelations multiplayer and on the news page there was a news message saying: "Can you break the loop?" Does this mean there is way to reach the last gate in the DLC and escape the loop?

Only change is permanent, and because of that, nothing is permanent

Yes and no. Here's why :

You can actually break the loop, I let you discover how. But you can't reach the last gate where the ground is destroyed.

I hope this answers your question.

I'm sorry, but is does not quite answer my question. How can you break the loop then?

Yes, you can. But not the way you're thinking about.

Just get all the animus data fragments inside the DLC and a path will appear.

Googling for five seconds would've given you that answer. Wink

Now it's my turn to ask something.

I wonder if breaking the loop is necessary to achieve 100% sync for the DLC, or if all collectables are enough.

So you're wondering if you can collect all collectibles the first time through and not have to go back though? Probably. I mean, breaking the loop was an achievement, right? I didn't think it was part of your sync... Only one way to find out though...

Can you, guys, believe the date I submitted my ACR run to SDA was... October 10, 2012 ???

I'm discovering this right now... Look at "runs needing verification": http://forum.speeddemosarchive.com/board/speedrun_verification2.html

Also, this day was the first one (in several months) I played the DLC again. Mindblowing, isn't it?

That was the same day it was posted here - almost two weeks ago. I don't get it. What's mindblowing about that date? I know that the emails in AC1 go from September 2 to 8, 2012. Does October 10, 2012 appear in The Lost Archive?

You won't even feel the blade.

If anyone here has any tip to beat this DLC faster, don't hesitate to tell me Wink.

PS : "beat" means trigger the end credits, which also means break the loop. And I already know that going forward is faster than strafing or going backwards ^^

Edit: finally I don't know when the game is completed... Is it after experiencing the loop & collecting all fragments/letters, or is it after the end credits? What do you think?

credits

did you determine if you can break the loop before experiencing the loop? ie, do you have to play all the levels twice? or just once?

In fact I did it in a test run. I replayed memory five right after having collected all fragments. The bridge was there, I triggered the end credits. Then the save appeared with 85% synch, because the last memory was actually 0% synched.

Oh and I also think I'll record the end credits too.
