So not only it referenced one the best videogame sagas of them all, but also introduced one of the most awesome characters of the game(which doesn't appear in the game enough in my opinion).
And now that we are on this topic, what other easter eggs have you found/liked?
I must be missing something -- what's the easter egg? Is it the box (which doesn't look very 1500-ish to me)?
The box is the character?
Oh, Now I've got it. I wasn't looking at the title of the video!
(And I haven't played any games from that series, if you'll accept that as an excuse...)
The box is the character?
I meant Leonardo, and the box is hugely similar to one from MGS.
Yeah, it's like one of the boxes you can have in mgs2 Sons of Liberty.
I'm not sure if it can be considered an easter egg, or if everyone is already aware of it, but there is an alternative cutscene that can be triggered in the last Romulus lair in the Vatican district, when you get the cardinal cornered at the end and you have to fight him. If you do it the normal way with weapons, you'll get the usual "Requiescat in pace" cutscene, then you can get the necklace by searching his body. But if you throw him over the edge, Ezio will grab his necklace as if he was trying to save him, but pull on the chain instead and let him fall anyway.
That's what he gets for having run around the cathedral for 5minutes.

I found that one too! That was pretty neat. And that dude deserved it.

I did that on my first time on this Lair. When in "combat mode" with him i thought: Hmmm...is it possible to throw him on this ledge ? Then i tried and it worked. I was like: WTF ? AWESOME !!!!!!! Lol
just gonna put this here
The best easter egg/reference to another game is in AC II when you meet your uncle and he goes "itsa me, Mario!" but yeah i caught that reference to MGS, I lol'ed
I heard that Assassin's Creed was originally inspired by MGS and that's why they're connected so much. Is it because of another reason?
Except made of a few things like vehicules, AC is also very similar to Grand Theft Auto series... I don't see a reason for that.
Its funny that, my 3 favourite video game series are GTA, AC and MGS. My entire youtube channel is made up of those 3 games, they are the only games I have played in like 2 years!
I find most people who like one of those games tend to enjoy another, example those who like MGS also seem to enjoy GTA or AC. Then again they are huge titles so it could just be co incidence.

I think it started with MGS4 having an unlockable Altair costume, and each dev has been putting easter eggs in each other's games ever since!
I love GTA and AC, but have never played an MGS game (don't hurt me, Jack!!!).

Same.
(SORRY JACK FORGIVE ME !)
...but you can't die a happy man unless you have played MGS !
This series is objectively one of the best. There is a HD collection coming out in November, containing MGS2, MGS3, and Peace Walker for PS3 and Xbox: you should try them if you can. A shame that the first one isn't in, for the sequels are less enjoyable without knowing the full story (and MGS1 was the best).
Hahaha. Ok Sync, maybe i'll buy it.
From the gameplays i've seen on youtube, the game sounds really cool

Do I understand you correctly that MGS3 will be available on Xbox for the first time? That's an interesting development.
Yes sir. Prepare to be amazed.
I'm still curious wether the multiplayer modes featured in the Subsistence version of MGS3 will be available to play online. That would be great since I've always wanted to play MGO
I might check this one out, since it's coming to the xbox now.
