when we first pop in the game Desmond does a little "previously on Assassins Creed" thing and is then gretted by Lucy
She has blood on her shirt and says somehing along the line of "We have maybe 10 minutes before the figure out what i've done"
what did she do?
and how long has it been since the end of the first game really?
she must have had time to first change her shirt and then more time to get it bloody.
at first i thought it was Vidic's blood but he appears uninjured at the end so who's is it?
Her fighting to get in to save Desmond is my assumption since she has to fight guards to get out. She talks about how her passcode is still good to get through the doors. So she has about 10 minutes before they change her security status I can only assume. Also she talks about looping the security video. That also is what she could be talking about. Who knows how long it is before the first and second game. A day? A week? Probably not too long.
Lilk is right about the "what I've done" stuff.
In numerous interviews, it's been stated that AC2 begins "about one hour" after the end of AC1. It makes sense. That gives Lucy enough time to ditch Vidic, return to her quarters and change, make sure no important data or clues were left behind (since she's not coming back), steal a passkey to the parking garage from someone, setup the security footage all along the escape path to loop old footage, possibly take out some additional security staff, then return to Desmond's room. It's also a reasonable amount of time for Desmond to be pouring over the bizarre details of Subject 16's writings and drawings.
Ah ok, I missed that detail about the '1 hour' (or maybe I just forgot it) but that makes perfect sense since you do start the game at the very same place you ended AC1.

Although I'm sure it's not the same for most players, I know that I spent quite a while reading all of the writings and looking at the diagrams all over the main room and on the bedroom wall. So it makes sense to me.
Heh, I finally caved in with my no-spoiler policy and ended up watching up to Desmond arriving at the Assassin's hideout on Youtube. I'd like to think it's slightly longer than an hour, in order to accomodate the Animus menu from Altairs chronicles and Bloodline, that Desmond somehow used Lucy's digipen to explore a bit more about Altairs life, but I guess an hour works too.
I always try to work in the chronological parts of games like Altairs Chronicles and Bloodlines, thanks for fitting them in nicely JoeCool!
