In Assassin's Creed II, under the Auditore Villa there are several statues of legendary Assassins from ages past. One of these statues is of Amunet, a female Egyptian Assassin who killed Cleopatra using a Snake.
In the upcoming Assassin's Creed Origins, Cleopatra is a major character, and at one point in the game the eventually-created Assassin Brotherhood spends some time calling themselves "The Hidden Ones."
Amunet is a female form of Amun.
Amunet and Amun are NOT NAMES. They refer to deities, yes, but they're actually also TITLES, which in Egyptian mean...
"Female Hidden One" and "Male Hidden One."

My beliefs;
Aya, Bayek's wife, is "Amunet."
We have been told that we DO play as Aya during certain sections of the game, but the very CIRCUMSTANCES AND CONTEXT surrounding her gameplay are THEMSELVES MASSIVE SPOILERS. Why? How?
One of the core mechanics of Origins is to summon a constant "signature animal" to help you with scouting and Stealth. Bayek has an Eagle. That's his signature animal. Senu is her name. But Aya, Aya is the opposite of Bayek in every way. It doesn't make sense for her to also use Senu for scouting in gameplay, because she doesn't have that unique bond with Senu. But what if Aya also has a signature animal of her own? A small animal that can go relatively unnoticed, that can move through locations quickly, and help her?
Really the only thing that is tough for Senu to scout in narratively would be the interiors of buildings (in gameplay you can totally see through walls with her, but anyway). What's an animal that can slither through interiors and scout for Aya that way, to continue that "thematic opposition" she has with Bayek?
Before hitting the obvious punchline I just want to make note of something we noticed before (thx Sorrosyss) -- doing an Alphabetic Shift on Aya's name gives "Eve." Eve is a VERY IMPORTANT character in Assassin's Creed. Eve is associated with Snakes.
A Snake.
Aya's Summon Animal is going to be a Snake.
Just like Bayek's Eagle, Aya will be able to use her Snake to mark enemies, scout, and even assassinate guards via bites. And we will likely assassinate Cleopatra while playing as Aya.
As Bayek's name is lost to time, Aya's title "The Female Hidden One" (The Female Assassin) is remembered through time as "Amunet." And eventually a statue of her finds itself in the Auditore Villa, centuries later.
Good theory, makes me wonder how much time the story will span across. As far as we know the game starts/ takes place in 49BC but Cleopatra's death is recorded in 30BC. The story spanning 19 years isn't too much of of a stretch when you consider ACII took place over like 23 years, I could totally see this being the final mission.
I'm going to guess that Aya's animal will be a rat. No reason. Just to be contrarian.
I think this is probably one of the more popular, and plausible, fan theories about this game at this point. (It was pretty obvious to me, anyway). It's nice to see it written out so precisely though. Thanks DAZ.
Nice sleuthing, that seems plausible and it would be really cool in-game!
You guys are going to feel like fools when it turns out to be a rat.
There was some fun rat imagery in the novel...
