Rumors are lining up that the next title will be Assassin's Creed: Mirage set in Baghdad and starring Basim Ibn Isha, a character from Valhalla. What sounds good to me is less RPG and a return to stealth. There's even talk of an AC1 remake using the work from Mirage.

I will create a new forum once this is confirmed by Ubisoft which will likely happen in September 2022.
Confirmed woooooooooo~~~
If what I've heard is true I might be finally happy to play a AC game again.
Also love the setting, always a favorite~
I just got an e-mail today from Ubisoft asking to take a survey specifically about stealth gameplay in Assassin's Creed games. I would love to get the classic AC mechanic feel with updated graphics. The AC1 remake has me both hopeful and worried, especially based on what I saw of the Prince of Persia remake they delayed.
How do I do the survey?
Or is it only for pros?
Cinematic trailer, no gameplay but hey it something.
Also Assassins creed Cadename RED
open-world RPG made by Odyssey dev team, shame.
Also a few more like Codename HEXE and Codename JADE
@DAZ / Leo - I left your stream today before the AC announcement. We're you going to upload the VOD to YouTube? Or at least a reaction video?
I'm trying so hard not to get excited, but the interviews with the devs after the reveal saying it's "a love letter to AC1" along with all the "return to roots" talk, it's hard not to have some hope. I won't do anything until I see some gameplay. Even then, it'll have to be something amazing to get my excitement levels back to 100%.
Some context of the period the game will be in~
Giving me some of that classic AC vibes
Getting hopeful.
4K Gameplay trailer from the Sony event:

Trailer looks alright. I might actually pick this up.
Was that the Prince of Persia enemy vault I saw Basim do in the trailer?
They're also saying Mirage will have a small map (on par with London or Paris) with no open areas and a full playthrough time of 15 hours.
I'm excited for the notoriety system that's apparently closer to the classic games. Hopefully stealth will be a good motivator to not be compromised and reported on.
Just got the game.
While I am enjoying myself (nostalgia maybe?), there are two gripes:
- the controls feel clunky. I haven't played the older AC games for a while but it feels different than I imagined. This could also be due to me playing Sekiro just before this release. From Software is infitely better than Ubisoft in having a certain weight to the combat.
- No mission replayability. Unfortunately this is something I only found out after purchasing the game and googling it. Some initial online research (can't google too much due to avoiding spoilers) also shows that Ubisoft is not very likely to patch mission replay in later. This a major gripe imo, i was quite looking forward to replaying the main assassinations, trying to figure out the best/most fun ways to kill them.
No mission replayability.
The PC version has five autosave slots and twenty manual save slots. That's enough to do a manual save before each main assassination (if you can anticipate when they're about to occur).
Do the Xbox and PlayStation versions also have twenty manual slave slots?

Compared to Valhalla, Mirage's controls have drastically improved for me. They just need to keep working on it to give us a more agile Assassin once again.
Mission replayability wasn't honestly an expected feature for me. There aren't a lot of games today that do level select. If they included a mission replay feature, it would have been a welcome surprise. However, seeing as how AC2 also didn't have this feature and many of us replayed that game in its entirety many times, Mirage's 12-15 hour campaign wouldn't really be much of an issue.
Like Stabguy said, I think we can figure out a save slot solution so that it's even easier.

That's good to know because I've been creating new saves at certain parts and didn't know what the slot limit was.
No idea if this forum supports tiktok embeds or not... but here. Enjoy.
Finally got a new AC game around release.
Free running feels a tad frustrating at times, hoping it gets better with familiarity.
Looking forward to this!
