It's finally been unlocked.
I'm not sure what to make of it. Everything looks pretty good but a lot of the animations look awkward; perhaps it's because they are new and unfamiliar. The colours look a little washed out too. Still, it's early days yet.
Dang pat, you beat me this time to posting it... xD;
As for the gameplay, whatever doubt I felt before is completely gone~ <3
I just fell in love with the feel of it, the scenery and movement as well as the battle system that we've seen seems all cool for me... =D
Love the continues free running as well, will make chase missions more interesting and tolerable...
This is also all Pre-Alpha so things are surely going to be worked on to make it even better~
Haha, sorry Vhan! Technically davinci9 posted it first in your thread but only because the New Content page kept reloading when I pressed Preview. I thought it deserved a new thread of its own anyway.
I agree, the overall atmosphere of the game looks great and the continuous free-running appears to work well, especially through that building, over the table and out the window. I'm sure any issues will be resolved as they continue to develop the game.
It's pre-alpha gameplay footage, so likely the awkwardness can be resolved.
Also, the colors in Revelations (to me) are more washed out than these.
I think that the change is the more realistic lighting. I thought some animations looked a bit off, but when actually playing I think it'll be amazing. The continuous killing looks fantastic. I love how much Connor uses his combat roll move.
I find it strange that the lines about fighting regardless of allegiance and those who are truly free were juxtaposed with a bear and the betsy ross flag, respectively. In my mind, those who are truly free are the assassins. Im pretty sure thats how it was meant.
EDIT: I just found out that this footage is from the game as it was in Febuary, which leaves quite a window for improvements. One thing I like about AC is how the games actually seem noticably better compared to their preview footage. (excluding AC2, since that preview footage was on the PC version, which was muuuuch more detailed than the console one.)
On another note, I love the effect better animations have on a character. To me it makes them look more realistically proportioned, even if the actual model has the same proportions. Comparing the CG trailers to the actual game you can see what I'm talking about. The head looks a little too big (and limbs look off) in the game, simply because the animation is more static.
