What about QTE for when animals are charging at you?
Can horses gallop? Can you ride them in towns?
Is good is Connor at swimming?
Connor is pretty good at swimming. He's a little better than the previous Assassins but not much difference.
Quick Time Events when animals charge at you are really fun and fast, and you're not insta-killed if you fail.
If you succeed, you insta-kill the animal in a Counter. If you fail, it climbs on you and your health bar starts draining. Then you mash a button and throw it off.
Horses can gallop, they have stamina (Zelda style) and you tap the Legs button to Spur them in High Profile. You can ride them in towns.
That's so amazing dude, you're so lucky!! can you answer a few questions?
Can you upgrade your weapons? Im talking specifically about the Tomahawk and the pistols.
What kind of outfits have you unlocked? Do they add something "Extra", like any perks?
Have you found any underground areas with unlockables like the tombs on the past instances of AC?
wow i have so many things to ask that i can't remember any of them right now ...
Thanks a lot in advance man!!
My two burning questions:
My two burning questions:
- Can you replay all memories (including Desmond missions)?
- Would it be worthwhile to create maps of collectibles here on THB?
I'm guessing no on Desmond stuff... as usually that's in the Animus menu so that Desmond can achieve higher synchronization with his ancestors.
If the last two games are any indication, collectible maps probably unlock... that's not say that we shouldn't... in addition to the many guides to be written...
Hows the voice acting?
My two burning questions:
- Can you replay all memories (including Desmond missions)?
I really hope they have something like this considering Desmond actually goes on missions this time(unlike the previous games where the Desmond sequences were purely story oriented).
Not to get to much into spoiler territory but do Desmond's missions have anything to with the Abstergo assassins sent to kill William? *Spoilers if you haven't seen all the AC:R Multiplayer videos*

DAZ (or anyone replying to this comment), please use spoiler tags around the answer to this.
You can upgrade your weapons by buying different weapons of the same type.
Each weapon has a Stat Triangle/Trinity: Combo, Damage and Speed.
Those three are pretty self-explanatory except for Combo; the higher the Combo stat is, the less likely a hard enemy will catch your killstreak and hurt you in the middle of it.
Creating maps of Collectables isn't really worth it because the ones that you think you've missed auto-unlock near the end of the Single Player Campaign. However, that really depends on the Collectables. I would say, make maps for every Liberation Mission, as I had difficulty finding those. @Asaic hint hint
You can replay all memories, including Desmond memories, up until a certain point in the storyline where you don't have access to his laptop anymore. At that point, you can still replay all Animus memories from within the Animus.
The voice acting is really cool. I especially liked Achilles, Daniel Cross and all the natives. I'm forgetting someone.. Oh yeah, Vidic. Vidic is the cool beans.
Desmond's connection to AC:R MP storyline;
Outfits don't really unlock any extras or perks, but during one mission in Sequence 1, an outfit is required to lower your Notoriety and move past a British checkpoint. I've unlocked a lot of them and I can say they look very snazzy.
The Tombs/Dungeon Missions from former AC games are back, in a BIG WAY. It feels more Uncharted-y than ever before and again, you'll see what I mean. I might even put one up just to showcase the gameplay awesomeness in the "never stop moving and kill everything between you and the bad guy" system.
I just beat the game. I feel every emotion known to man.
But more info;
After you beat the main story, a sort of mini-campaign unlocks based on a group of people who've hacked the Animus. It requires an internet connection though Fortunately I have Wi Fi on my PS3 so I can go for it. Tomorrow. After school. 6 hours of it. The excitement in me is ridiculous right now.

And you have to wait until the official release before you can say ANYTHING. Muahahaha. You got the game first, but you still have to suffer.
Oh my god man, it's so good. It's so worth it. I dare not say anything, this is on a legendary scale. I can't just think of one Assassin anymore. Altair, Ezio, Clay, Lucy, Connor, Desmond. All of these people had such big parts to play and they did not fail even when everything was just.. You know what, you'll see. But OHH MY GODDDDDDD
And yeah, it's only fair lol. Pros and Cons
FUCK.... ima go preorder this now lol.
Ashame my exams are on right now so I cant really play it, but chances are I will anyway and not do as well as I could on my exams....
I'd say focus on exams first, after that knock down the Single Player. At a certain point I started skipping Full Synch failures because the story was just too present for me to ignore.
I think I'll play through the game without worrying about the Full Synch requirements first. Then we can work on guides for those if we have trouble. I think DAZ already started a topic about that.
please for the love of god put some videos up i NEED my sustinance just some standard stuff or a desmond mission /tomb/ANYTHING or even just some hunting and just set youtube to have is so only people with the URL can view it
Roger that. I'll try to put up a video of a Tomb/Chase, Desmond's second mission and three hunting methods.
So those are three.
THANK YOU <3 also would like to know if any new gadgets come onto play during like with Ben Franklin such as new weapons and such ?
Ben Franklin is prevalent only in Sequence 1 (and he's a pervert. Talk to him and he'll tell you like 18 reasons why you should date older women.. Also horrendously sexist but hey, it comes with the times).
His inventions are not tools or weapons, they are just decorations that you can craft and add to the Davenport Homestead. Ben Franklin's inventions are required for 100% Synchronization.
Collecting Almanac pages is necessary to unlock Crafting Recipes for Ben Franklin's inventions so you need those; they're the equivalent of Feathers, but only in cities. Feathers are only in the Frontier and they are all collectable from the first time you start Tree Running.
Thanks DAZ, you're still my hero for getting it early. That's been blowing my headbrain since you posted, so lucky. My only question for you about the game is, do you find that you notice not being able to kill civillians alot? or does it barely matter? I'm not massacuring (?) people when I play the series, but the odd time I'll get mad at a lute player or a beggar lady.
Heheh... "Was my melody, not to your liking??"
Not killing civvies doesn't bother me at all. The only ones that are annoying are Orphan kids. And you can make them go away by impressing them with free running/climbing something.
How much of the maps are open from the beginning? Do the cities have districts that unlock throughout gameplay again? I mean... it doesn't make sense that Connor can enter Boston right away, but wouldn't be able to get to Bunker Hill until 3 sequences later, does it?
Hah, cool. And in response to your 6-hour online campaign announcement, I'm looking forward to the "to be continued" stuff they'll tease with if they do. AND if they do you should wait to announce whether or not AC4 is evident, I still need to get this one Replay value on this one better than usual?
above was for DAZ, sorry for the re-post guys.
DAZ, one last question from me before I go dark for 5 days.
Do the seasons change once the game is over? Once you've accomplished everything and are just running around, do you still get a winter/summer cycle on all the maps? Or just the normal rain/fog random cycles?
I know in the other games, the day/night cycle is maintained after beating the game, so I'm hoping the season cycle is likewise maintained in this one.
I've heard one of the dev's say that winter/summer will be story-related, whereas the rain and fog will continue to be randomly generated even after game completion. Your assumption is right on the money I'm pretty sure.

Yes, I know summer/winter is story related... but once I'm done with the story, I don't want to be stuck in summer the whole time...

How often do they attack? At the same time? Are there field in vision greater than before?
Not that I NEEDED to block but i'm used to hold down the right trigger. Oh and DaVinci9 wants me to ask about the AC III's version of borgia(templar) towers
Serious question about how much you can interact with civilians. If you can't kill them can you still shoot them, or use your gadgets on them, can you still hit them to get them to move out of the way? Are you still able to draw your weapons to threaten them if needed. Can you still get in random fist fights with people. Are there any other neutral characters you can attack etc...
Once you finish the story, Animus Hacks become available from the Options Menu.
Here, you can mess around with Seasons, Time of Day, Ammunition Amounts etc. Lots of cool stuff. I only have Seasons and Ammo unlocked right now because finding those Erudito Pivots is haard.. Definitely make maps for THOSE.
Enemy fields of vision are a little bigger, but what is really noticeable isn't so much how far they can see, but how much quicker they detect you when you ARE in their line of sight.
Have 2 Notoriety? Don't stay there for even a second.
Have 3 Notoriety? Have fun not getting into a huge fight (in which you will most likely die unless you figure out/I tell you how to fight Jagers.)
Enemies are smarter in combat. I get hit pretty often. TheHiddenBladers are good enough to not die very often, but for people who really can't adapt to III's combat system, it'll be rough.
ACIII's version of Towers and Dens returns and is a one-shot thing like Towers. They're Forts. Each fort is solved by killing the Commander, blowing up their Powder Supply and lowering their Flag.
There are 7 Forts in all and once unlocked, they serve as a Fast Travel point.
According to the in-game manual, it is possible to target Civilians using the Targeting Button (L1/LT) and do actions to them then. I've tried it in the Homestead and I can't hurt anyone there. Maybe that's just because it's the Homestead though, I haven't tried in actual Cities or the Frontier yet.

Thanks a ton for the quick answer I was actually kind of worried about not being able to engage combat when ever you wanted, or needed to.
animus hacks for seasons.... fantastic. just what i was hoping for.... that said, can you set it to random? so you have a winter with a random time of day, or still with the day/night cycle?
There are better words than "retards"; that one has connotations that are offensive. Try "idiots" or "dickheads" or something more along those lines.
You can set it to Off, Summer, Winter. Random would be Off I guess.
I've confirmed that you can hit Civilians with your Equipped Tool (Triangle/Y).
As far as I know, you can't hit them with your Melee Weapon, but I can check again later.
The one I tested was Pistol.
So who else agrees that this sounds like the closest AC game to what we've been wanting from the sounds of DAZ's experiences?

Will you check if you can punch them? Also can you see if they run when you draw your weapon? I just would like to know if there is a way to deal with the crowd in humorous ways like AC2.

ASDAQWEFQWERFQWERQ thank you thing is i was supposed to get this yesterday but the guy who was going to sell it to me decided to change his mind so yeah.... TY DAZ lol
Nice footage man lol. So what is your favorite outfit slash color scheme for Connors clothes?
New York; Dark Grey outfit with Red Wings (the skirts at the back). As for the footage, don't worry, it's abysmal, I know
I shouldn't have gotten all nervous during the escape. Full Synch though. That's kinda cool.. Right?
Hey can you unlock the getup that Conors father had on in the beginning? It also looks pretty snazzy. Yeah the footage was pretty cool I loved the way Connor just randomly falls down dead when the timer runs out looked funny as hell.
I'm not sure about that, I haven't checked. I did just Full Synch the entire storyline (got the Perfectionist Trophy/Achievement) so I could check what outfits I've unlocked.

Awesome, thanks for the video. When you were hopping from iceberg to iceberg en route to the ship, was that just you holding down R1/RT and having the "safe jump" you referred to earlier?
Also, was that your first run through of the tomb or had you done it before? You seemed to have a relatively good command of the path there (although it didn't seem incredibly complicated). Is this one of the easier missions, in your opinion? As I've said before, I tend not to excel in the time specific missions, so it might've taken me a few tries to get the whole thing done.
And, lastly, would that not have sufficed as 100% sync because you need to do a perfectly clean run through while completing all of the optional objectives to get the full sync?
I'm not sure about that, I haven't checked. I did just Full Synch the entire storyline (got the Perfectionist Trophy/Achievement) so I could check what outfits I've unlocked.
Now me personally I am probably going to be sporting the bright red cloak like I did in AC2, and in AC brother hood.
how does the slide mechanic work?
I did use Safe Freerunning during this video, yeah.
I had done this tomb once before, but it wasn't that hard. The important thing is to stay calm and let animations finish.
Perfect runs are not necessary for Full Synch, the wording on "All constraints completed in one playthrough." in game just means that you have to do it in one playthrough, retries or not. It just means you can't do one Full Synch objective, leave, replay the mission, not do the objective you did first, but do another one. You have to complete all objectives within the same mission. You CAN replay a mission from the beginning and Full Synch it provided you do every objective from start to finish.
Sliding works by Freerunning onto a slope. The opposite of it is slope scurrying, which is ALSO done by Freerunning onto a slope Just the other way.
thanks =) now i have to go dark for 5 more days *returns to dark cave*
