Also to help out with getting the full release... =P

Was about to post this; beaten to it! Can't wait until the gameplay is unlocked. @D
As people in other places have.pointed out, its a shame that he shoots the arrow improperly. Or who knows, maybe thats how they did it then.

It looked fine to me and not a lot of people give a sh*t. People whine over the smallest things.

Agreed, it seems rather silly to me... =P
I'm more interested in the detachable Hidden blade, wonder what kind of moves it'll allow ya...?
For example, you can easily slit the throat of an enemy with it now since he it can be held properly... =0
but that makes it just another knife among the rest
but that makes it just another knife among the rest
I'm lacking imagination with it, so there probably more uses to it now... =/
And it still should be usable as a classic Hidden blade, now they just added it as a Dagger replacement as well...?
It might just get more use in dynamic fights, switching from classic to detachable quickly in battles... =P
Are you fucking serious, Ubisoft? You have to get a certain amount of hits and tweets on certain social networks in order for you to even show us the fucking video? What the hell am I suppose to do with this giant sword I got in my pants?
As usual, this typical game company is building up hype and exitement. It's a clever strategy of letting the fans get exited over a teaser, and letting them forget all the terrible AC games they've played for the past 2 years. And it's working brilliantly. My narcissism has still not changed, and will not change till the glorious day I see some gameplay footage.
Oh, and an arrow that's to the knee (or somewhere close to it)?
Apparently, internet memes do still live on...

I think you're using narcissism improperly.
Chill out. They don't even HAVE to show a trailer before E3. The fact that there's a viral marketing campaign associated with it isn't a big deal. If people want to see it, then they will. It's not like this is a new sort of thing.
Also, it was an arrow to the calf. So...
but that makes it just another knife among the rest
As far as I can tell, Connor doesn't have that many blades this time around. He has the tomahawk, rope dart, and now the hidden blade/knife combo. So really, it's just like saving space. Two weapons in one seems better than 80 weapons on both hands (Ezio).
WOOO!!! Another video of Conner killing a redcoat!!
Aside from what they've TOLD us, is there ANY visual proof that Conner kills American Templars? I believe them when they tell me so, but they're certainly not marketing it the same as they describe it.

The more casual American market (i.e. not hardcore Assassin's Creed fans) wants to see British soldiers dying and that's what they're getting... in the marketing at least...

Vesferatu did say that he has a giant sword in his pants. Sounds narcissistic to me!
Rope dart?
Giant sword? JK JK
Rope dart?
If you recall, the original AC's pre-gameplay trailer marketing only showed Altair killing british people, as well.
I feel that there will be more pissed off people than satisfied.
And the whole hidden blade dagger thing is very old news.
Rope Dart! I'm going to roleplay Connor as Scorpio during the entire game. GET OVER HERE!

Youd think hed mention narcissism in the same paragraph, if that was the way he meant it. : p
EDIT: I honestly think that most of the templars will be brits, but that they will be portrayed fairly enough that they dont seem evil, which will quell any cries of racism. Which are ridiculous. We killed hundereds of people from different races in previous games. Sime of them british, as I pointed out. We also sided with different races (king richard, suileman). In this particular scenario the Americans are the complete underdog. It makes no sense for them to be cast as the main templar force.

It's not racist when one group of white people are being killed more than another group of white people. Wrong choice of words, captain.
I just love how people debate about my narcissism...
Anyway, this whole controversial idea of enemy ethnicity is completely nonsense and blown out of proportion. In ACI, you're an Middle-Eastern man killing with a multi-religious background (dad's Muslim and mom's Christian) killing other Middle-Easterns. From ACII to ACB, you play an Italian man killing other Italians. In ACR, you're the same Italian man killing people of Turkish descent.
And now...in ACIII, you play a mixed British and N.A. assassin killing what presumably to be enemy troops of British descent. However, Connor might have to kill traitorous Americans as well.
Not to mention that in other video-games such as Call of Duty, Metal of Honor, or Battlefield you're constantly killing Russians, Germans, Japanese, or Vietnamese.
Consistency here, anyone?
I don't find anything wrong with anything.
I was only trying to point out that what Ubisoft has said and what they have shown are not the same. And THAT's what I find interesting.
I could care less about the what (ie, who Conner kills)... the marketing is what I find interesting.
The British are the main antagonists. They are marketed as such. However, Conner says in the trailer that he'll kill anyone regardless of allegiance. They just haven't shown an example of something like that yet.
To keep things from getting ridiculously confusing, they will mainly show one enemy. Just as was done for AC1. (I recall acre being show far more than any other place, with plenty of crusader murdrin'.
Good thing they showed some gameplay from the point of view of the player and not just gameplay footage with a cinematic twist. It looks great!

I hate it when people post that on youtube... >_>
Uhhhg. If that lawsuit ends up delayin this hotness...
Guess it's my time...
Ubisoft, Ubisoft, Ubisoft...
For once, you've given us a trailer with a strong narrative without any disgusting dupstep to go along with it. The first thing that strikes me is Connors voice. He's half European and half Indian. He was raised by his Indian mother, so shouldn't he have an Indian accent? Did his father of someone teach him English? Perhaps he can change the dialect in his voice.
With that out of the way, I am impressed with the animation. Ubisoft actually incorporated my realistic and practical moves, such as diving, sliding, vaulting, and swinging. All of Connor's movements seem to be fluid, precise, and elegant. The rope dart is preformed marvelously here. Danging British troops from tree branches while leaping into combat and using one of them as shields is brilliant. Double kill animations and brutal disarms and counters are a nice touch. I hope all of this will be tallied into a "fear system".
But the best and most improvement is the combat itself. Already I see a massive overhall. Instead of stupidly waiting for his enemies to draw out their guns like Ezio or Altair, he goes for the offence. Rolling to recover himself, he dashes in for the fill, taking out a guard and leaping on a mounted troop. There seems to be no hiccup in the animation itself, and the control scheme is the same as it would be if Connor was anonymous.
My main problem is mostly an aesthetic one, and that would be the design of Connor himself. It seems that Ubisoft got lazy with the design and just rehashed Ezio's tailcoats. I'm not particularly fond of the tip of the hoodie, and I'm pretty sure Connor would have a hard time blending in New York or Boston. White was not a common color back then - brown and the occasional blue was. But then again, this is just me nitpicking.

Remember that it's the Animus interpreting the characters' voices. The new machine will most likely be a step up from the other Animi. The voice actor is Native American anyways, so it's as authentic as it can be with dialect coaches on board.
Besides, there's not much of an accent when Native Americans go from their own language to English. We probably combined dialects while the whites mingled with them over time.
Makes sense. I hope the Fear System is something similar to Arkham Asylum/City. If there even IS a legitimate fear system in place. That would be awesome.
was there a fear system in the Arkham games?
was there a fear system in the Arkham games?
Yes. You've been playing Arkham City, haven't you? Try being as stealthy as possible and pick them off one by one without being seen. After a while, each thug will realize they're alone in that area and get scared. Once they're terrified, they'll be shaking and shooting at any disturbing noise. If you drop down next to them while they're terrified, they'll cower in fear and give you about a 3 second window to do something with them before they fire.
About "rehashing" the tailcoats, it looks just like everyone elses coats in this time period. Also his outfit does have a lot of blue and brown, he doesnt look all that different other than the hood. (in fact if you took away the hood it's identical. Anyways most of the time assassins are stealthy by not being seen or blocking views with other people, not literal disguises.
was there a fear system in the Arkham games?
See how the guards get nervous over time.
EDIT:
AC III having a fear system is very convenient. Even though i thought AC already had a fear system. Anyway, also sets up for a lot of fun with red coats pissing their pants.Hell maybe we could make a red coat have a heart attack and die...that be awesome.

oh, you mean that.
i wasn't really thinking about that as a system of it's own.
though i have just recently started noticing after a big open fistfight, sometimes i see people covering in a corner afterwards, and i can't hit them.
