Halo: Combat Evolved, as most of us know by now, is getting a 10th Anniversary re-release. This includes improvements on multiplayer, graphics, and other gameplay elements. Since Assassin's Creed has become a blockbuster franchise in the past few years alone, would Ubi take this same route with AC?

In 2017 (6 years!!!), if Ubisoft re-releases Altair's first console adventure to us with everything improved, what would it play like? Obviously they can't just take AC3's mechanics and everything and just slap it on Acre. It would have to have the same tense feeling, but improved on an almost next-gen scale.

Multiplayer? Maybe they'd perfect it by this time (keep those damn roof runners from breaking the game for everyone else).

Thoughts on a remastered AC1?

i like the idea.hell they might release a box set with AC I,II,brotherhood, all remasterd and uncut.and also with a massive graphic update !!!!
what i would like to see
AC I
take out glitchs. would be the main thing i want them to fix because the first time i was in jeruselum i fell into a building and could'nt get out. and also a alternate first mission as altair. showing the way that he joined the brotherhood.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sSUcfdpD7yg .

ACII
fix platforming problems not a big deal its mostly when your doing assassin tombs and gets annoying.excution strike from ACB it would more helpful in ACII than brotherhood ( thats just me). and AC I type investigations like sitting on a bench and listening to your targets coversation.

AC:brotherhood
AC I type investigations like sitting on a bench and listening to your targets coversation. having more than 8 assassin recruits. hope it includes the di vinci disappearance dlc.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humor is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which

I figured that they'd do something like the Prince of Persia collection. Each game is on the disc and you choose which one to play. Hopefully you'll be able to switch games and still have your progress saved in the others, unlike the PofP one.

I often wonder what games would be like if they remade them and added in some improvements from later on in the series. Provided the core gameplay and story wasn't affected too much, I would love an ACI remake.

I replayed a few sequences today and would love if Ubi remade it with:

1. Better facial animation

2. Skippable cutscenes (or would they just be considered "dialogues"?)

3. Possibly more cinematic cutscenes

4. Fast travel for the first few sequences and not just after Sequence 3

5. Bring back the more realistic character designs, but just put more detail into it, not totally change it (see "Fish Lip Lucy - AC2")

6. Smooth transitions during freerunning and combat

7. Hopefully by then, they'll make freerunning easier to control for casual players of the series

8. Uplay enabled (different skins, Solomon's Temple, throwing knife capacity upgrade)

9. Side missions that double as investigations that weren't included in the original game. Completing these missions will aid the player in giving them an advantage of some kind over the target they are going after at the time.

10. Difficulty modes

11. Virtual training?

12. More options for Desmond; perhaps being able to walk faster than a turtle

Just a few ideas without breaking off from the original idea.

I expect a remake of previous ACs to be one of the first things Ubi announces after AC3 is out and done with.

If they remade AC1 with all the glitches removed, better guard AI, and better graphics and animations, no amount of repetitive investigations could keep me from playing it forever.

EDIT:
I like your ideas. Desmond always seemed to control crappily to me.

To me, they only need to do three things.

1) Redo the Al Mualim and Blue Room conversations to allow for gameplay during the monologue [maybe tomb-esque freerunning/combat, depending on whether the target was a fleer or a fighter]. Don't change the monologue.

2) Change how investigations are carried out; allow passive information to be gathered for all the targets in a city through blending, or interrogations similar to Arkham City.

3) Add the ledge/hiding/air assassinations, air tackle, and ACII's blend.

You want freerunning during the monologues? I'd really be alright with AC2 style cutscenes for any talking spots. I would keep the blue room monologues the way they are, though.

OMG DUDE IT'S CALLED THE MEMORY CORRIDOR WHERE HAVE YOU GONE WRONG?

: P

But yeah, I'd prefer AC2-R style cut-scenes. Actually, if AC1 had cut-scenes which looked as slick as ACR ones... I may faint.

EDIT: And no I didn't mean explosions. I meant the framing of each shot, the camera pans, and the drama.

Might not be a big deal for you, but I never really liked moving the camera around by myself, or changing angles, or waiting for techno spider-webs to mash A. Many cutscenes, expecially the Al Mualim ones, would be improved if they were more dramatically set up, and with more use of the full body motion cap, and getting rid of the idea that the whole cutscene has to take place in one small area.

Exactly what I was thinking. I like the idea of "interactive cutscenes", but it seems the only way to do it correctly at the moment is put in quicktime button presses like they had in AC2.

I think its time to revive this thread.....

Nah. In all honesty, I'd prefer it if classic games were left the way they are. Let's move forward with every game. New settings and characters. Leave the flaws and triumphs of previous games in those games.

I would really like it if they added stuff. VR training is a must. It would add replay value, especially with leaderboards. They could use the animus room. One of the cool things about that is the characters didn't have faces. Multiplayer sounds okay. They could also make more missions and use places you've been in only once in the game (Solomon's temple, Talal's warehouse, Arsuf). Ideas just come into my head when I think about all the game mechanics and what can be possible in the game. And casting theater (changing characters in cutscenes) sounds like a fun idea.

I would like to see the new engine in place of AC1's. I'm sure it might be difficult to do so. But I can dream.

Another cool thing would be to have lairs to roam around in (Like the cathedral in Acre or Solomon's Temple). I'd get behind the VR training and maybe getting more options as Desmond when he roams around.

Okay, so the informer missions formerly on PC should be included on a rerelease. Now that we know combat between characters is possible, it would be a mistake for Ubi not to include it.

But because of flaws (guards won't fight back because they're too focused on fighting you) and other glitches, these fights will have to be controlled. I suggest they occur at isolated moments in missions, and that afterward the area is cleared of all characters involved. I can just imagine a battle outside of a city while the gate is closed. Guards fighting against armed civilians.

Another great addition would be an ingame manual. The health of guard types/targets and damage of each melee weapon is a must, although I don't think it should all be unlocked from the very beginning.
