there is this Swedish gaming podcast at www.Powergamer.se
somehow they managed to book in Jason Vandenberghe to talk about his work in gaming psychology called "The 5 Domains of Play" in a few days.
he is there mostly for the psychology thing, but this is a chance to ask him anything. a chance to make our voices heard.
he does work with AC, right?
go at it
So... what should we ask him?
So... what should we ask him?
"HOW MUCH K1LLING CAN WE DO??? LOLOLOLOL"
"IS DESMOND FINALLY OUT OF THE GAME??"
"WHY DID YOU PUT 'GAY' IN THE ASSASSIN'S NAME?? THAT'S RETARDED. LOLOLOL"
i don't know. i was hoping for some good ideas from you guys.
i'm debating to myself if i should just send in a big at on why AC 1 was way better than the other ones, and what made Brotherhood suck th fun out for me....no, probably not, that would just seem like whining
You can ask why the first game focused on the key differences in the Assassins and Templars in trying to achieve the same goal (peace)... and the later games were more of a "LOL! Templars = Bad!"
Or is that the same question you were gonna ask about why AC1 was better and ACB sucked the life out.
I just want people to ask questions that haven't been answered a million times (i.e. people asking if Desmond is still in the game).
Ask whether AC:B and AC:R were a management decision.
The theory is actually interesting from what I can find, all joking aside.
I would like to know: what personality types each of the major Ubisoft franchises (Assassin's Creed, Tom Clancy, etc) targets most aggressively according to his Five Domains?
Only problem is I don't now how to translate that into Swedish.
Also, will there be a transcript of the podcast available in English?

i don't believe Jason speaks Swedish, so i assume it's gonna be done in English.
they have done that before
Maybe ask if the NPCs in AC3 can swim...
Will the Assassins franchise be rebooted
after ACIII?
Not rebooted. Just start another story.
The only thing I want to know is whether AC3 will have a good amount of main story targets or not, and if you can actually be really creative during those missions (in other words not being forced to kill the target in a certain way).
Ask whether AC:B and AC:R were a management decision.
I like this one because it lets them know how you felt about those games without actually saying they were bad.
Maybe ask if the NPCs in AC3 can swim...
That would be a nice addition to the game.
apparently the man hurt his back, so it has been postponed a bit.
now, i've sent in one AC centric question, as i think it covers most of it without sonding like an insult:
"without going into details, I loved AC1, i was okay with AC2 , but i did not like ACB at all, did not play ACR because I was so disappointed.
with that info, can you tell me if there is any chance i'm gonna like AC3?"
is that good enough?
I think that's a fair question, especially since they want to please as many people as possible.
I think it's perfect, Rob.
the podcast with Jason on the 5 domains of play s now up
http://www.powergamer.se/2012/11/15/podcast-feat-jason-vandenberghe/
that page has a bunch of charts and stuff that are brought up.
but what you wanna do to listen to i, is click the big blue link at the bottom called:
"Klicka här för att lyssna på podcasten med Jason!"
below that is another smaller blue link where you can take the test yourself.
i can also happily say that my question on the AC series was brought up at around the 57 minute mark.
he tackles it not as a guy from Ubisoft who knows the game, but as a personality tester, so take from that what you will.
the whole thing is really interesting, i highly recommend it.
Your question fit perfectly into Jason's topic of gaming psychology. His answer was a highlight of the interview because it got him focused on Assassin's Creed.
