Since nobody started this topic, I guess I will. So what's your opinion on the addition of armor, dyes, and skins in the Assassin's Creed series. Do you think it's necessary? Do you like it? Which is your favorite?
Armor - Personally, I hate wearing armor. I really do. An assassin has to be lightweight and speedy if he's going to run away from guards. If I have to choose wearing armor, I like to wear the every piece (shoulders, arm, legs) at the SAME time INSTEAD of the chest. Why? Because it gives Ezio a bulky look. When he's free-running, he's going to be crouching and rolling all over the place. Chest armor will only restrict such movement. The shoulder, arm, and leg armor won't restrict so much movement. I also don't like mixing around pieces of armor. I like a uniform and consistent look on me. My favorite set in AC2 will probably have to be the metal one. The leather and helmschmied has a rubbery look towards it, and the missaglias set looks to flowery and heavy with all that design on it. I really hate the armor design on Brotherhood. It seems to me that they put more attention towards the armor instead of Ezio's Roman robes. I'm guessing Ubisoft wanted us to wear armor to mask all that whiteness. That's a thing I don't like - how 1 piece of armor is constantly with us all the time. My favorite armor of all time is definitely the Armor of Altair. Sleek, black, and elegant, it represents the pinnacle of durability and fashion. Armor of Brutus looks too bulky and has a lot of clipping. I know Ubisoft wanted more of a gladiator feel towards my Assassin, but he's suppose to be stealthy, not a tank. Seriously, that thing looks so stuffy.
Dyes - In AC2, my favorite set was the Florentine Mahogany and the Wetlands Ebony and Wetlands Ivory. I prefer neutral colors over others. Maybe that's just me. The robes on Ac2 were appropriate for Ezio. I'm fond of the cape, the shortness of the tailcoat, and even Ezio wearing the Assassin crest on him to begin with. The robes on ACB, however, were a different thing. It looks so...empty. This is the Renaissance, not the Third Crusade. It's so simple and pearly. It needs a splash of brown over it. I still prefer neutral colors in my dyes here, also.
Skins - To be honest with you, I rarely use the Robes of Altair. It looks...out of place. The Florentine Nobel Attire and Desmond skin are good for a comedic purpose, due to the fact that their weapons are levitating at their waste and the crossbow on their back. My favorite of all is the Helmschmied Drachen series. It doesn't fit with the Roman Renaissance, but it looks so cool anyways. It looks like that armor from the Thor movie.
Well, that's my opinion. I wanna hear yours.
Armor: well its not needed but it makes the outfit look better to me.and it depends on what difficulty level you have it on and how good of a player you are. and also it makes ezio stand out more thats why i'm happy that in revelations we won't have to buy any armor (i hope so).the armor of brutus i only wore the first two hours i unlocked it and after that i never wear it because it is to big and f#cking bulky lookin.
Dyes: i dye ezios clothes alot! more in brotherhood then ACII. because ezios clothes were real bright white while in ACII it was greyish color. and when i do dye his clothes in ACB and ACII its mostly wetlands ebony.
Skins: i play around with them alot at the parts were it feels realistic like for example when you first arrive in roma and ezio has one hidden blade i will use altairs skin.when ezio gets two hidden blades i use the armor of altair skin (the unlockable armor in ACII). my only complaints i have with the skins are that when you put them on you only see the crossbow and thats annoying. and that when altair talks its ezios voice which f#cks me up completely.
Armor: Sometimes armor can look good on Ezio. If you look on the cover of AC2, you will see Ezio equipped with a metal shoulder guard, but in the game, he doesn't have that in the beginning. I usually ONLY wear that piece of armor. In ACB, you have to wear the Roman Spaulders. Usually, I wear the Helmschmied Drachen or Armor of Altair skin to cover up the ugliness of that.
Dyes: The dyes aren't necessary for gameplay reasons, but it's fun anyways.
Skins: True - hearing Ezio's vocals coming from Altair does sound a little strange, but it's for the comedic affect, too. I can understand you hidden blade problem. The Desmond Skin and Robes of Altair is only equipped with one hidden blade, so if you have two hidden blades equipped, it looks rather awkward. This is why I prefer one hidden blade than two - consistency. The Florentine Noble Attire - I rarely use that one. Rather off settling when you hear an old man's voice from a 17 year old.
i have the noble attire but never use it at all. and in revelations that on the skins you can see the two hiddenblades on skins like altair, noble attire, ect
I like wetlands ivory as well. I really dont care about the cape, though. It seems to be in the way somehow.
If I'm going to wear any spaulders, I wear the metal type. It's the closest to blending in to the rest of his outfit so it doesn't stand out as much. No other armor, though.
