I know at least Ian uses a PS3.
Theres a huge problem going on with PSN right now (reading a few topics on it at GameFAQs, don't actually have a PS3 myself) with trophies, DLC, themes, and a variety of other things.
I know Ian makes backups of his stuff, but just wondering if anybody has gotten this issue?
I haven't been on PSN this weekend, but a friend of mine texted me saying that he couldn't get on all day today (Sunday).
Yeah, I found out what happened. Apparently Sony updated their website today, and included some calendar update for the PS3s. Something in the update set off antipiracy measures in the PS3s. Seems to affect mostly older (non-Slim) systems.
I was just coming to warn everyone about this issue. You can find more info at the Playstation Blog. Basically, unless you have a Slim (120/250gb) PS3, you should avoid using it until the problem is resolved or risk losing trophy data like I have. I attempted to sync my trophies after playing X-men Origins: Wolverine for a few hours when the error hit. Currently my PS3 doesn't show any of my Wolverine trophies despite them showing up on my account on the Playstation site. Unfortunately, it looks like the trophies I had earned that hadn't been synced may have to be recollected.

I think as long as you haven't lost any flag achievements from AC1 you'll be okay
Talked to a co-worker a little while ago and he said it also killed some of his save games.
I have a few really important saves on my system, but I haven't used it since before the weekend (phew!). I'm going to stay off the PS3 until the issues are fixed. Once they are, I'm going to back them all up just in case something similar happens in the future.
The problem has been fixed. Apparently, the internal clocks in the older non-slim PS3's thought 2010 was a leap year.
Thus far, I haven't noticed any problems with my save files, but I haven't gone through and loaded them all up either. I try to back up my PS3 about once a month, so if there is any thing messed up, I should be able to restore most of it.
I havn't encountered anything yet. But I was not able to sign in for the past few days.

There's no excuse for that. A simple (year % 4) == 0 test correctly identifies all leap years from 1901 through 2099.
I guess they fixed that error in the Slims since it didn't affect them and adopted a "wait and see" attitude towards the problem in the fat ones.
But I agree with stabguy, its pretty hard to believe a glitch as big as that could get through their QA testing. The good thing is that it was fixed quickly and none of my saves or trophies were lost.
what i think is super weird is that the problem only occured on the fat ps3's. both ps3 versions (fat and slim) use the same software, so this implies that there is firmware on the ps3 that can't calculate dates correctly. that's a big problem.
After hearing about the save file problems I checked all of my kids saves. All the saves from yesterday prior to the fix listed the save date as 12/31/1999. Luckily, they were able to load those saves and all their data is still there. This incident might make me start doing weekly backups.
Here's something all you PS3 users will enjoy:
Apparently they have released a statement on what the problem was:

The PS3s affected share a CPU with the Zune, the same chip in fact that caused the Zunes to have their issue a couple years back.
But, as stabguy said, there's no excuse for this, especially in light of the Zune issue.
