Well, let's get straight to business. I am currently replaying AC:R and I came across the wells I remembered from the first playthrough. There are 31 wells in the city blocked with wooden planks and you can open them up by throwing bombs.
But seriously, did ANYONE ever find all 31? Some time spent on Google tells me people can only find 27, see link (http://www.flickr.com/photos/52645007@N06/6497628811/sizes/l/in/photostr...)
So, is there anyone who has found all of them?
So I'm kind of wondering.. Why didn't they have a Trophy/Achievement in AC:R that involved opening all Closed Wells with Bombs?
"Another Famous Italian Plumber"
"Uncover all blocked wells using Bombs."
This is my opinion: because it does not increase the completion rate of the game, it does not help for any trophy, and it has no specific use but to hide temporary, the wells aren't that interesting.
I didn't even know this was a thing.
Hey DAZ, There's a similar achievement I think you might know about already for the first borderlands game haha!
"My brother is an italian plumber"
Kill an enemy by dropping down on him.
So, there's no die-hard completionist here who bothered to look for them? Some people seem to think it was a bug and that no. 28-31 were already opened.

I got to about 14 or so and stopped...
I think the point of opening them was just to unlock more hide spots in the city. That's a novel concept, but I think it doesn't really work all that well with how easy it is to escape guards in that game without the use of static hide spots.
What I would find more interesting is if in some future game, crowd density was a bigger deal if you wanted to hide, and you could upgrade or buy attractions that would draw bigger crowds to an area at the expense of other surrounding areas.
Would be an interesting mechanic.
Do you mean like investing in, say, a market, and as more shops and stalls open up the place is more crowded than before the investment and you have more hiding opportunities?
(I used the words hiding opportunities instead of hiding spots, because I think a dynamic crowd is not really a spot.)
