I believe the title speaks for me; the final time is 2:48:41, according to the in-game timer. I don't really know what else to say, so here are:

- my comments about the latter.

I've been planning this run since January 2012 ; I recorded it between September 1st and October 3rd, 2012. I wish to thank many people, including my girlfriend, my "old school" friend, people from SDA (especially fluojn, Akheon and velocikiller) and people from The Hidden Blade (especially Phi).
Like the Assassin's Creed II run, the game settings were all at the minimum, including the resolution. But on the contrary to the Assassin's Creed II run, I used save warping many times ; death abuse isn't useful after all. That's why some segments can be very short. There are 51 of them, going from 2 to 12 per sequence.
Time note : we can trust the in-game timer once more, but it does not count the time spent in animus island, as well as any moment where you can't pause the game and watch the stats. Apart from the actual time spent in the game, adding a segment doesn't seem to add any time.
Another note is the two different ways to quit the game: the first one is to quit directly to Windows (as I do most of the time), the save being the last checkpoint, and the other one is to quit to the main menu, the save being done right then; that's what I use for save warping when not in a memory. The run is encoded per sequence.
Category note : this is an any% run, using the DLC "the lost archive" (which means twelve bullets are available).
I tried to use the hookblade as often as possible, because Ezio is much faster than using his bare hands. Also I used save warping or the sewers only when it saves at least five seconds.
The run has now been published on Sped Demos Archive:
Some news: the run has been accepted on Speed Demos Archive!

Hats off to you, Fed. The time you spent on this really shows, even if I'm sure it was more of a pain than is imaginable simply by watching the final product. Really impressive and funny at times too.
How do you feel about the game now that the speedrun is done ? Not too tired of it that you wouldn't want to touch it again for months ?

As you seem to be french, I will use some french words as well. I planned this run during my "agrégation de physique" year, so I hadn't so much time to play.
It took about 2 months to plan individual memories, another 2 months to plan the whole game. Then, until the middle of July (and a positive result for the "agrégation"), I wrote the plan on my computer and kept optimizing it. I didn't play so much during the "vacances d'été".
Now that the run is done, I'm tired of the segments and the run, more than by the game itself. Nevertheless, for me, there's no reason to play it again. By the way, you may know I wish to run (100%) the DLC the lost archive, "l'archive perdue".
Thanks, Fed!
For those who can't wait, here is the link to the playlist.

I will edit it with the new videos and comments as soon as possible. When all is complete, I will create a new topic, in the hope to be front-paged

FYI you may edit the top post of this topic and we will consider it for the front page. It already has a good title and comments.

All right then. But I'll wait for the playlist to be complete.
Edit : first post edited.
Desmond parts are only played when necessary, which means a little at the beginning + going to the "door" other times.
Nevertheless I think I'm going to run the Lost Artifact DLC when all is clear with the main game.
Can't wait.
I don't plan to replay ACR before AC3 comes out (just finished ACB for the second time). Instead, I'll just watch your playthrough on SDA.
I'm assuming your videos are just of Ezio, and not of Desmond playthrough? Or is that part of it?

whoa... 3 hours? amazing
What's the total sync/renovation/etc?
Good job! That you had the patience to play through this pezzo di merda of a game over and over again amazes me.

I hope the run itself will amaze you even more!
I'm done with this run, guys. The time is 2 hours, 48 minutes and 41 seconds according to the in-game timer.
Videos coming as soon as I've encoded them.
I wouldn't say "boring", but yes, the game doesn't let you as free as another.
Nope. Revelations is even more skip-sensitive than previous games. The whole damn thing is on rails.
It's boring.
I know you guys here can find awesome exploits.
Do someone know if there's a way to skip a (small or big) part of the game with a glitch?
Procrastination is the worst thing ever. I have six exams coming up that could determine what I do with my life and yet I'm sitting here browsing random sites/articles, posting on internet forums and enjoying the Indian Premier League (cricket tournament) which is, unfortunately, televised for at least six hours a day for another month yet! It finishes just four days before my first exam!
I was speaking of fear / apprehension, rather than procrastination. But that's not the matter here. Only AC games, and in this thread, speedrunning AC games. At least I believe. Oh, I'm tired.
It's general procrastination syndrome, I think. I know that all too well.

That's pretty much ruling my life right now. ;D
Yeah, thanks for the tip. This is going to be a pain in the ass, though.

You know, it's like an exam or telling the truth (after a lie) to someone. You're afraid to do it, but once it's done, you're really relieved.
Yes, I did it for AC2 as well. In fact, I was thinking to do AC2 in a single segment. You know, it's not easy to remember the whole run (about 7 hours). Also, all cutscenes are unskippable, so you have time to read.
I highly recommend to do something like this, for several reasons. First, it helps you to plan the run, especially when it comes to ammo, money and stuff. Also, by this you can always find the plan if you ever forget it... imagine a place where you had an awesome shortcut and you don't remember it ; if it's written there's no problem.
I hope this answers you!
It works. That's quite a document! Did you do this for AC2 as well? Would you recommend it?
All right, I hope this link works :
Yeah sure, I can read French.
As said in the "spawn points map" thread, I finished to write the notes about the run. Of course they're in french, but Google can translate I believe. Anyone interested?
For those memories with Suleiman, don't worry, the only place I will walk is a few seconds with the romanis to fo through 2 guards. And I don't trigger any alert.
I think I planned the other memories quite well too.
ACR is pretty easy to speedrun. In my opinion it's the easiest one. It's pretty short and not a lot of the side missions are mandatory. I would suggest getting REAL GOOD at doing the missions where you have to get to Prince Suleiman without being detected or killing anyone, and doing them FAST. When I did my own Low Percent Speedrun, that was the thing that troubled me the most.
