Haha. That guy's pretty funny and he does have some extremely good points about ACII. The controls, while not as bad as he makes out IMO, do leave a lot to be desired and the whole automatic parkour thing does indeed mean you often end up where you don't want to be. He seems to put it down to the game 'guessing' where you want to go

I think most people appreciate AC because of the rich story, big, vibrant cities and unique gameplay and setting. This guy clearly doesn't.

While, admittedly, there are so many problems with ACII, as a whole game its pretty amazing. This reviewer has, quite rightly, analysed everything within the game, and seems to hate all of it but when you step back and just enjoy the game, the small problems and annoyances with controls, graphics and repetition, are hard to notice IMO.

He makes some excellent points, and many of the things that he hates about the game I also hate (I literally said THANK YOU out loud when he talked about the poor positioning of the Wanted posters), but he bitched too much about graphics. If you hate a game solely because it doesn't look perfect, you have a problem. And Assassin's Creed does a damn good job of looking good and making beautiful environments, in my opinion.

In my opinion most of those points he pointed out are true, but i didnt feel that were that big of a deal to make it a horrible game. The pros of the game outweigh the cons by a mile ( or a ton... whatever) and if you actually take your time and just hold down R1, X and forward free running isnt so hard.

First he says all you gotta do is hold down those three buttons and its easy peasy, then he says its too frustrating because the game has to guess where you want to go when it looks like he doesnt even know where he wants to go. Also I dont think he realises there is a jump button, you can tap X while holding R1 whenever you want, although sometimes instead of doing a smooth jump forwards you will see in some of my failed stunt he just jumps to the edge of the roof...

I watched it (and left a comment ) and just got so frustrated at his horrible gameplay. Did you see his fighting? He took every hit without blocking at all. His jumping was just plain sad.

Assassin's Creed is famous for its art direction, so why could he be whining about the graphics? They're not as realistic as AC1, but they're almost there. Also, I haven't had any issues with pop-ups like he said.

It's like he was bribed to make it look like the worst game in the world. Either that, or he based it off of his 99 year-old grandma playing it.

Yeah it doesn't help that he's an appalling player but I think the main problem is that he just doesn't 'get' the game. I can't really explain it better than that

As you said though, his jumping and free-running is just painful to watch. Some of the bits where he complains about the game not going where you want it to, he's leaping off the edge of rooves really high up while facing that direction more than the one he supposedly wants to go. Of course your going to leap off then!

He has a few decent points but if he spent longer actually playing instead of complaining he might be better at it. And it certainly does seem like he was paid to hate it. In this case, don't hate the game, hate the player

I like how when he said the AI just stand around and attack you one by one, 3 guards moved on and owned him as he said it
