This is a quick guide for getting the Old Habits achievement/trophy and also 100% game progress in AC Origins. Like many, I was stuck at 99% for a while so I know the feeling of having "completed everything" and still not seeing 100%. Below are some tips for what to do (and what not to do) to get over that last hump.

The description for Old Habits is simply "Complete all locations." That's pretty vague. Here is what they mean by Locations:

  • Treasure - Open 1-3 chests to complete. Some of these are underwater.
  • Forts - Kill 1-3 captains/commanders and open 1-4 chests. Some of these are on ships.
  • Animal Lairs - Kill the king animal.
  • Hermit Locations - Find a spot to rest. Senu is no help. Instead, hold D-Pad Up D-pad and then look for a yellow triangle icon among 3-4 candles.
  • Align the Stars - Rotate a constellation pattern and match it to the stars.
  • War Elephants - Kill 1-2 elephants.
  • Tombs - Find the ancient tablet and sometimes activate the ancient mechanism with Silica.

In order to get 100%, you need everything for Old Habits plus:

  • Ptolemy Statues - Destroy 19 statues.
  • Main quests - Finish the main story line.
  • Side quests - Complete all other missions indicated by a white exclamation point icon on your map.

Here are some things you don't need in order to get 100%:

  • All achievements.
  • Any particular skills/abilities.
  • Own/upgrade legendary weapons.
  • Crafting.
  • Maximum level.
  • Actually solving Papyrus puzzles. You need only collect all the Papyrus.
  • Hippodrome/Arena events.
  • DLC

Tips for getting Old Habits:

  • Open your world map and press D-pad UP D-pad until it says "UNCOMPLETED LOCATIONS" in the bottom right corner. This will hide all icons except Fast Travel locations, question marks (undiscovered locations), and discovered but uncompleted locations. Zoom in close enough for these icons to appear and then scan the map.
  • When you unfog a region the Viewpoints (if any) will automatically appear on the map. Synchronize them. Other icons only appear if you pass within about 250 meters of them. It's a good practice to ride your horse across the length of every region to make the icons pop on your map.
  • After completing the main story line, visit the Bureau of the Hidden Ones in Memphis.
  • After getting the Stargazer achievement/trophy, return to the tomb under the Sphinx and find Eesfet Oon-m'Aa Poo. Remember to bring 50 Silica (usually found in other tombs).

Once you get Old Habits, check your Game Progress at one or both of these websites:
https://club.ubisoft.com/en-US/game/assassins-creed-origins/XONE/overview
https://account.xbox.com/en-us/GameInfoHub?titleid=502034863&selectedTab...
(Note that Game Progression and Playtime may not agree completely between the two sites.)

If you're already at 100%, congratulations! Otherwise, double-check your Ptolemy statues against an online guide. There are only 19 of them so it doesn't take long. I missed the one in Ineb-Hedjet Nome, probably because its icon was obscured by the Fast Travel location of Per Ousir.

Finally, here's the big secret to getting 100%. There are two "hidden" side missions that only show up on your map when you're right on top of them. Otherwise, they disappear.

The first is called "The Bride". Fast travel to Soknopaiou Nesos in Faiyum. Find the bride standing on a cliff just northwest of the Blacksmith marker on the map:

The other hidden side mission is "What's Yours is Mine". It can be found here in Giza:

People say that "Loose Cargo" is also hidden but I didn't have any problem finding that one on my own. It starts just north of the Zoiontegoi Shipwreck in Herekleion Nome with a Roman soldier trapped in a cage.

Another tip: From the "Quests" tab you can see how many quests you've completed. You can also scroll through their names and check for "The Bride", "What's Yours is Mine" and "Loose Cargo".

There's disagreement about how many quests make up the main game. I ended up with 130 including "Secrets of the First Pyramids" which I bought with reward points from Ubisoft Club. The Xbox website gave me credit for 100% after completing 129 quests. I guess it just counts to 129 and didn't realize that one of them was "Secrets of the First Pyramids". Ubisoft's site only registered 100% upon completing my 130th quest.

Update: When it comes to finding Hermit Locations, Senu is no help but holding D-Pad Up D-pad is. It's that thing that illuminates nearby loot with white triangle icons. Hermit Locations are indicated with a yellow triangle.

Main article updated.
