Down? Did I miss something?
ac-maps still works for me.
FLAE must have been right - we killed AC-maps!
Nah, it's back up now.
Right. Glad about that

I just want to point out that, stab, ever since you granted Trig's wish, you've used the emoticon more than she has
And actually I do think I was right because I can't access the site either now.

Same! Says something about an SQL error.
It's gone down a few times over the last month or so, but this is the longest it's been offline.
I feel like there has been a death in the family
acmaps was down for like a month once. i was sure such a long downtime would be death for the forum. nope!
acmaps was down for like a month once.
Yup. It was down pretty much all of December 2008. That was a different problem. These SQL errors are easy for Fire to fix. He probably doesn't know about it. I will go ahead and send him an email now.
lets hope it comes back up
It's just gone back down again
Again? I haven't been able to get on it for over a week now I think.
again? i didn't even know it was back up
It was never back up. I think watchurback meant "still".
it used to be the forum that was down. now the whole site seems to be gone
The forums went down because of a database error. Now the maps are offline because the file permissions got set to zero. These are problems that Firestorm would fix regularly back in the good old days. Now I can't even get ahold of him. I've sent emails to two addresses (iownyou and hotmail) without success.
If anyone has a better way to reach Fire, now's the time to use it.
I hate to say this and I hope that I'm wrong but I doubt ACmaps will be back.
Are any of the old-timers here on PlayStation Network (PSN)? That was once a reliable way to reach Fire. Send me a PM and I will give one of you his username. Firestorm also has Xbox LIVE but hasn't been on since October 28. (EDIT: His last post to AC-maps was to say that his third Xbox died.) Heck, he hasn't even been on MSN Messenger or Facebook for months. I hope the guy is okay.
This sounds a little heartless, but does anyone know of a way to keep the maps? That would be a pain to remake.
So.... The maps are lost for good? When I try to go on the site, it says
"You don't have permission to access / on this server.
Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."
I hate to say this and I hope that I'm wrong but I doubt ACmaps will be back.
Oh, lilk. You just need to have a little faith.
I managed to reach Firestorm with a little help from TriggerPhzyc (thanks again, Trigs!) Fire says he'll have the site fully functional soon and, even more important, will renew the domain name which was set to expire on December 27. The maps are already back online.
That's great to hear! But I never lost the map page..that always functioned for me off my bookmark..it was only the forums I lost.
Forbidden 403 error, it's down again
Fuck, you're right!
Firestorm logged in yesterday, replied to a couple of topics, and accidentally left the site in maintenance mode. Currently only admins and mods can use the forum. Dougie, Trigger and I are having one hell of a party!
I've sent Fire a message about the situation.
It's down for 'short maintenance'.
FYI, it looks like Firestorm has renewed his domain name for another year. He waited until after it expired, so the site is offline at the moment (at least for some of us) but it should make its way through the DNS servers this week and come back up for everyone. I'm guessing that Fire also renewed his web hosting service for a full year.
The funny thing is that I went and said my goodbyes last week... just in case. For the record, abosol1 would have been the winner of "Last Person to Reply... Wins!" if Fire hadn't renewed the site.
That's good to hear. I thought this time it was gone for good.
maybe it's just me but i think it's time to let the site just die with the dignity it has left.
i have lots of fond memories from there, i'll never forget it.
but now, all it is, is a breeding ground for bots
