Hey everyone, I am actually preparing a 100% synch (stats) speedrun of AC2. Here's the advancement status. By the way, an estimate of the final in-game time is 7:45:00.

- listing and mapping everything: done
- routing memories as individual levels: done
- order all the memories and mandatory events: done
- routing paths between memories: done
- planning notoriety and ammo management: done
- segmenting: done
- trying the whole thing: done
- recording: done
- encoding: done
- commenting: done
- submitting: done
An up-to-date copy of the planning file can be found here.

Looking strong, Fed! This is a very ambitious task, and it's impressive that your projected time is around 8:30:00. Most first runs of the game that anyone does take at least that long WITHOUT doing anything but Main Memories. The fact that it's a 100% Run makes me smile.

In think the answer is 'no,' but will this include sequences 12 and 13?

Actually the answer is yes, since it's on PC as the any% run was. It will include everything (tombs, lairs, sequences, etc).

It may be obvious, but don't hesitate to comment! Any help is welcome. If you don't like french, the titles are all in english. I'll keep the first post up-to-date as much as possible.

I speak a bit of French. Is it me, or are you planning on including a lot more freerunning?

More freerunning than where? I don't see what you meant.

In comparison to the AC2 speedrun. I recall that having very little freerunning.

I only looked over the first sequence though.

Actually, there is as less freerunning as possible, but more explanations in the planning, because of the save warping.

Hey guys, the planning is now done, but in fact 100% sync can be achieved right before the Minerva scene, and nevertheless I think the proper run should include the end credits. What do you think?

All your other runs have included credits, right? I remember seeing them on the ACR run at least...

All of them have, yes. And that's the goal of an any% run. But here it's 100% game-defined, so that's why I'm wondering. I really want to include the credits though.

Hey man, it does not affect the calculation of your running time, right? If you think that include the end credits will make it more formally, why not?

This is a big one, I can not wait to watch them. Party

In fact it does, since the scene in the vault counts towards in-game time.

If you're the first to do it, it's not like anyone can beat you by NOT doing it... once you do it, everyone else will have to in order to supplant you for the top spot. It's up to you to set the precedent here.

We always define speedruns as completing the game, no? IMO if you haven't completed the game, the speedrun isn't complete.

I know you're joking... but yeah if you have any useful trick you're unsure I have please tell me! Smile
Nevertheless I doubt it since there are new strats literally everywhere.

In case you're dying to know, Stab, I've translated the relevant portion of the notes. It starts from the roof scene, where Ezio overhears Uberto and Lorenzo talking, right before the assassination.

Spoiler: Highlight to view

Jump to the left towards the church (to avoid the hay)
Climb just right from the central gate and jump to the right
Catch ledge on the roof on the right, then climb up and jump to the right to assassinate Uberto.

Thanks, Phi. That's what I gathered also (my French isn't so good). It seems like an archer would spot Ezio along that route, causing a desync. Maybe it's not an issue if you're quick enough.

Hey guys. Actually the translation wasn't exact but you get the idea. To keep you teased the assassination of Uberto Alberti took slightly over 20 seconds.

Also guess what happened at the first battle with Mario at San Giminiano's gate.

Spoiler: Highlight to view
I killed one guy and suddenly all allies gathered, went through the gate and ignored all enemies running at them. The rest was kinda sloppy but almost 25 seconds were saved comparing to a perfect "normal" battle.

I'd vote for a new topic when you've completed the run, Fed. That way, you'll have plenty of room for descriptions/notes/explanations, etc.

Seconded. I bet there are people that don't care about the progress (this topic) but would love to have a topic devoted to the finished project.

I think you can expect a release at the end of April (see first post). By the way, should I keep the final time in spoiler tags or it's not necessary?

I don't think spoiler tags will be a necessary thing, unless we're going to start taking bets on what the final time is. It might be kind of fun to be surprised - and awed!!! - by it when you finish.

So looking forward to seeing this, Fed!

So what you're telling me is that it's going to be possible to 24 hour marathon all the AC games and beat them all 100% sync?

possible... not plausible...

I would say... total cutscenes = about 180-210 minutes, and total time "forgot" by in-game timer = around 100-120 minutes (loading screens + events outside animus).
