This video demonstrates a superfast blitz on Maria in memory block six Jerusalem. When you get within the area for the scene you are unable to do any high profile actions. Jump from the fence to the railing which leads you to where you can get in the huddle of the scene. Just go along the railing until you cannot move further because of an invisible wall. To get past the barrier drop down and hang from the side of the railing. Then move further, climb up and drop off the railing past the invisible barrier. You are now in the scene. For the blitz just stand behind Maria and start tapping the button while the scene ends (remember to equip the hidden blade before starting the scene).
Blitzes: For the first blitz the camera view changes in .07 seconds, but Altair is just standing there. The kill animation starts in .14 seconds. For the second blitz the camera view also changes in .07 seconds, but I'm not sure if that's when the kill animation starts (also Altair's health bar appears a frame before the white flash). So I'm not really sure what the correct times are.
As far as I can tell, the Platinum Hits version is the exact same. I played about an hour and a half today. I saw a couple of fishy things, though.
First, I loaded my save game I've been playing on since I got it. I obtained the Personal Vendetta achievement on this game save, but while I was in an Acre alley, I saw an idling Templar. I killed him and the message popped up saying I killed only 23/60 Templars??? My flags are the same numbers I had caught since I stopped playing, though. Weird.
The 2nd oddity I found today was when I was playing Majd Addin's (I'm pretty sure that's how you spell it) mission and was just fooling around. I got him and a bunch of his guards to chase after me. I climbed up the building next to the platform (I believe it's the north side, but I could be wrong). I went onto the top-most part (a "box" on the roof with a door leading to the inside) and took out all the guards that dared to jump up to me. I killed almost everyone except for my target. I kept countering his moves, being a little cocky. I did one last counter, punching him in the stomach, sliding him back onto his face. He slid over the edge of the "box" so he landed on the air, but since this had taken out his health enough for me to kill him, Altair did his auto-lunge kill with the hidden blade. Once he did this, Majd was walking in place in the opposite direction. The Animus cinematic came up...without Altair. Majd was lying down being cradled by no one. The screen glitch came up to see another view. I pressed and he was talking like he would. A split-second later, I saw Altair falling in the Animus world. He finally hit the ground (whatever "ground" is in the Animus) and died. The level was restarting from my last checkpoint...I restarted in the Animus world. I had my health bar only. I could pause and still run around. Nowhere to go. It was weird as hell!
Can someone see if this is doable on the regular version? I'll see if it can be reproduced when I can.
Hey, something like that happened to me when I assassinated Abul Nuquod. I collapsed a stall then while on it I countered him with the hidden blade and assassinated him in midair. Altair wasn't there for the scene and after it the game froze with Altair and Abul in midair. I have most of it recorded and will put it in a video if I find something to do on Abul Nuquod. If this is reproducible it would be nice for a There Is No Altair compilation. I remember IanXO4 killed Al Mualim in midair, perhaps he can say if this has ever happened to him before?
That would be pretty neat to see all the crazy glitches you can do like that compiled in a video. I'll look into more stuff like that with the other targets. I'll be free this weekend (maybe not Sunday).
I will when I get to play it (most likely tomorrow).
Just got my new "Platinum Hits" copy of AC1. Now I can finally try out all these epic assassinations!

Is that a different version of the game? Does it have any new features? Tell us, we want to know.
