This is the second invisible assassination discovered in AC1 so far, the first being on William.

setup
The guards patrolling the area around the place as well as the guards posted at the entrances disappear when you start the scene. If you kill one of them in high profile while he disappears it triggers the memory corridor for Abul Nuquod, even though the assassination hasn't officially started.

So here's how to set it up: Fight the guard group by the northwest entrance until there are a few left who flee (take out the strongest since the low level guards are more apt to flee). You may have to throw the remaining guard past the doorway, but he may run that way.

After the scene you will have to glitch out since an invisible barrier has appeared to block you from going outside, while the doors close to keep you from going inside (even if you try to jump through before the doors close there's an invisible barrier. That's where the civilians come in use. This is why I chose the northwest entrance. Gentle push a civilian through the barrier and assassinate your way out when he crosses through. You are unable to assassinate him while he's on the other side, so you need to do it as soon as he's going through, or you'll run into the wall while trying so.

Notice that Abul is still alive, apart from a bloodstain on his neck that you see during the memory corridor scene. So you don't have to actually kill him to progress through the game. And since the pre assassination scene never happened the party hasn't been interrupted.

I suggest a front page as well. XP

Okay, so situations like this can occur when there's many guards. Hopefully this is possible for Majd because holy fuck that blitz is hard.

Impressive! Shock

Even today you guys still discover stuff about AC1.

Just a question, do you enter in another memory corridor if you kill Abu'l a second time? Do the city alarm goes off as normal?

I watched the video, and when you did the invisible kill (of NOT Abu'l Nuquod, by the way Tongue) I literally raised my hands up in the air and shouted "YES".

The clipping out doesn't seem too hard to make use of in a speedrun. I know it took you more than one try, but if you pay attention to where the civilians and Altaïr are at I suspect it'd be pretty consistent. There also might be a way to clip outside with a momentum jump, though I'm not sure Altaïr has the grasp ledge move yet.

Do you know what exactly causes the guard to despawn? Is he programmed to do so? Because if that's the case, then the only other target I could see this possibly having an application is Talal where guards may or may not despawn. And even then I've never been able to get a guard inside that doorway (though all my attempts were with memory walls up). If it's caused by the scene starting, you are my favourite person in the world because that probably means scene skips for Tamir, Garnier, Talal, Majd, William (faster), Jubair (this will be hard though), Sibrand and Maria. Possibly also for Robert and Al Mualim. However, I don't think the latter option likely as, if I recally correctly, you can assassinate one of the guards guarding the Hospitalier fortress into the scene for Garnier, so I'm not going to get my hopes up. It warrants testing though.

Sorry for the long wait, guys. The computer normally used for making videos is still in limbo, and this computer doesn't have a program for converting video files to put on Moviemaker. I eventually just put the whole file on Youtube (which took a few hours to upload) and used the trim option. Unfortunately you can only trim from the start and end of the video, which is why I couldn't edit out the mistakes, but it's better than nothing.

It's probably because there's so many guards patrolling outside that they disappear. The game probably can't handle all of it, so it removes them for the time being. I also remember some of them respawning when you're in fights, probably a glitch.

Now for improving this. If you notice, before I kill the civilian I go into the 'ready to jump position' because if I'm regularly standing when I push the assassinate button it brings the blade out and I have to wait for it to go back in to try again. However I recently tried going into blend and doing the regular low profile, and it worked (probably has a much better chance of working too). Also tried to see if there was a way to do this without killing as many guards. Outside the fence on that side are two posted guards and another one close by. If you kill two of them and leave the low level on alive he'll flee. However it'll be hard to do this without drawing the attention of the guard patrol inside.

Funny thing is I discovered that those guards disappeared while trying something which involved glitching inside the place. Unfortunately them disappearing ruined it, but I theorized an invisible assassination might be possible. Of course I didn't expect it to work since Abul appears when the scene starts and was mildly surprised.

No, there's no memory corridor if you kill him then, but you do go under city alert.
