While toying around I stumbled upon a certain glitch.
I've taken the liberty of coining it "Ultrablending" since I remembered the terms super and hyperblending being used (although I have to admit I'm not entirely up to date on how those exploits work ).
So basically this is what you do for the glitch to happen:
- First, you find a group of npc's similar to this video, I would guess that a crowd of 5/6 people is enough and you don't want to get overcrowded.
- Then you go stand in the middle and drop a money pouch using R1, the npc's will start picking up the money and Arno will crouch along with them, I wait a few seconds and then I slightly nudge my control stick to make Arno stand-up.
I try not to make very abrupt movements and try to take a few small steps and if all goes well you should see the blending circle/ring disappear and re-appear a couple of times.
- I don't know the minimum/maximum off re-appearing the ring has to do and I usually just take a guess and step out of the blending group.
- I usually test if the ultrablending has succeeded by running past a few guards/fanatics and see if my running makes them turn around/activate their SSI. If I failed then they should notice me and if I succeeded they wouldn't even turn their heads.
The money-bag process is a bit of hit and miss, up till now I have a 70-80 percent success rate on the first try.
The glitch doesn't cancel out when you fast-travel to a viewpoint if I'm correct. It does however end when you die and I also think it ends when you enter another blend group.
Entering a main memory after ultrablending will cancel it out and that's why I had to redo it for the assassination.
Uhhh what steps exactly are you taking to get the glitch, and how does it work?
If this is 100% reproducible, we can now LITERALLY Ghost Run missions.
That is awesome, have to try it! But yeah... could you give some more explanations about how to trigger it?
Holy crap that is an extremely powerful tool.
http://youtu.be/1Nw3JJU4XWo
I realize now that the glitch might look a little simple/strange so I'll try to elaborate on that and I've also included a video of me using the glitch in a ghost run of a co-op heist mission.
In the video you can see me try to do it twice, the first time I fail and the second tme it works. I wanted to do a totally un-edited run but I got lost in the Palais and spent a few minutes running around trying to find the stairs to the third floor
So basically this is what you do for the glitch to happen:
- First, you find a group of npc's similar to both videos, I would guess that a crowd of 5/6 people is enough and you don't want to get overcrowded (this could be while my first attempt in 2nd video failed).
- Then you go stand in the middle and drop a money pouch using R1, the npc's will start picking up the money and Arno will crouch along with them, I wait a few seconds and then I slightly nudge my control stick to make Arno stand-up.
I try not to make very abrupt movements and try to take a few small steps and if all goes well you should see the blending circle/ring dissapear and re-appear a couple of times.
I hope this explanation gives you all a better impression on how to do this since, and I hope you will be able to reproduce it.
That is awesome, man. You just walked right through everything. A great find and it's functional too!
This. Is. Fantastic.
It is a step up from super/hyperblending because:
1 - it doesn't end on fast travel (video evidence please though)
2 - it doesn't end on high-profile actions
3 - it doesn't end on standing surfaces
4 - it doesn't end on assassinations
Fantastic! Front Page Exploit right here.
It's totally working even with fast travel and/or when starting memories (see links below). Unfortunately it does not stay when you quit the game, though. Excellent finding there!

Edit: I don't know about main memories (with loading screens and/or cutscenes) for now.

Something tells me this would definitely be useful in a speedrun...
Also, I guess money bomb is the next thing I'm buying...
Glad to see it works for other people!
Didn't even realize those kills while ultrablending could count as blend assassinations (I have the updates disabled on my HUD).
And thanks for showing that it works after fast-travel!
Can someone try this out in co-op??
Will it work if you are in one group with one person throwing the money bomb then you're all ultrablended? Or will each individual person have to do it?
If one bomb can ultrablend a whole team... that could make for some fun videos/etc... like a huddle before an american football play, except instead of a bunch of football players, you'd be a bunch of thieves and murderes... wait a second...
Whole new meaning to "Get In The Huddle."
>teams of Assassins all badass and cool
>"And here we have the team from TheHiddenBlade and they're... What are they doing, exactly?"
>"Uuuhhh..."
>"Oh. My. God...!"
So blending in with a group of civilians breaks the ultrablend, but entering a hiding spot like a haybale doesn't, huh? Are those completely separate mechanics then? Instead of [hidden assassination], does Unity distinguish between [blend assassination] and ... [hiding spot assassination]? Any other hiding spots that are treated differently? Just curious.
No, those are the two different methods of hidden assassinations. Haven't come across any other in my two playthroughs, at least.
Btw, this exploit renders the other topic on farming creed points with controlled descent useless... Just ultrablend and go to a restricted area then air or cover assassinate all the enemies for a quick double dip on blend + other assassinate points.
EDIT: Not that this is faster than controlled descent-climb-repeat... but this is definitely more fun, gets you stealthy statistics, and allows you to scope out a building in advance of doing it without the exploit... easy reconnaissance.
This is great!
While playing with it myself, I think that the glitch is triggered if Arno
0. (not sure) stands in a crowd with normal blend
1. stands in a money blend
2. walks around, thus exiting money blend, while still in range of the normal blend (this is the important step, after Arno exits the money blend he will not blend normally for a short time)
3. starts running before blending in another money or (more importantly) normal blend
I've played around with it too, and want to clarify some things:
I try not to make very abrupt movements and try to take a few small steps and if all goes well you should see the blending circle/ring disappear and re-appear a couple of times.
- I don't know the minimum/maximum off re-appearing the ring has to do and I usually just take a guess and step out of the blending group.
DON'T WORRY ABOUT THIS!
Blend with a group, even just 2. Drop a money bomb. Just walk out of the money blend. And you're golden.
I think the blend state is this...
for normal blending:
0 - not blended
1 (+1) - blend with a group
0 (-1) - leave blend - not blended
money blending:
0 - not blended, drop money bomb
1 (+1) - people rush around you to create a money blend
0 (-1) - leave blend - not blended
and combine the two for ultrablending:
0 - not blended
1 (+1) - blend with a group, drop money bomb
2 (+1) - people rush around you for a money blend, now you're DOUBLE BLENDED
1 (-1) - leave the group, get your -1 to the blend state, but you're still net +1 blended....
Somehow, blending with another group resets it to +1 on entering the group.
Also, I THINK renovating a social club undoes it... but I COULD have blended with a group somewhere that I don't recall.

Tried this last night with Joey. We blended in same group, I dropped a bomb, we both walked out of the group, we were both ultrablended.

We should try Ultra Quad Blending through missions.
Just don't let this happen.

YES! Joey twerking video!
THANKS RACCOONSANDWICH!
You're welcome..
I managed to reduce most of the missions to a trivial matter of running towards to the objectives, and on top of that it isn't even hard to do! It's literally 1 press of a button, couldn't we at least pretend that it requires some kind of effort/creative input! You didn't even wait for Arno to crouch! *cries*
But on a more serious note it is a nice and fast way to get some money for gear. But I'm still hoping that this exploit can be used for better purposes, like uncovering more exploits for example.
And I'm honestly a bit surprised that this exploit isn't more widely known, doesn't anybody use the money pouch at all? or is everyone keeping this glitch for themselves in fear of it being fixed? You'd think something that makes the game a 1000 times easier would have been reported on the official forums for example?

I'm pretty sure you are the only person I know that uses the money pouch.
Also, for the record, in a multiplayer game with Joey, I desynched from a fall and when I came back I was still ultrablended... so maybe because it was multiplayer it maintained the status because the game didn't actually reset the mission?
It's a rocky little exploit (doesn't work every single time; about 50/50 for me), but a fun one.
dude, Joey. you must be doing something wrong. it works for me at least 95% of the time, assuming I'm not detected and don't walk straight into another blend group. hell, i was undoing it once by walking into a group, and YOU dropped a money bomb near me and triggered it when I was trying to get rid of it. haha
I follow the instructions from this post and from what you told me to do in the game. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it does, I don't know what I do differently.

I'm conservative with skill points and unlock only what I need (so far just disguise, staggering strike, and poison bomb). Another thing is this game-breaking exploit takes away the challenge, and the challenge is what makes the game so satisfying.

I agree with you on the unlocking what you need part (Although I did unlock most of the skills, just rarely used the ones I didn't need) but I'm not wondering why this exploit isn't used more often, I'm wondering why this exploit which is so ridiculously easy to find/stumble upon hasn't been found at all
I very rarely used the money pouch, but I didn't think that so few people used it that nobody else figured this exploit out.
Tested it out more. It seems to work when I unblend before kneeling over the money, then getting up after 2 or 3 seconds to walk out of the group. I did about 5 heist missions alone to test it.
While playing with it myself, I think that the glitch is triggered if...
Be careful not to trigger your glitch too soon... when playing with yourself.

We all have that problem the first time.

It's especially bad since the cooldown on it is annoyingly high before you can try it again...

With enough practice, you can just go right back at it. Just keep trying!

Almost [7 GB] large Unity patch just hit.
Smooths everything out, fixes pretty much everything.
But y'know what it doesn't fix? ;]
Ultrablending.
No time for that when you need to refurbish the Paris map. Btw, as a PC player: jdidisshaiavhdbxbsnzkaiqo release it already!!!1!!1!!
Turns out that Ultrablending isn't infallible, a certain Marie Levesque was able to see through this overpowered glitch. Although after the first detection she runs to a room and then I'm back to being invisible through ultrablending.
BTW if anyone has any tips or a method on how to get this target out of her area and have her stay there for some time I'd really appreciate it.

False. I ultrablended right to her for a double blend assassination.
Perhaps she was looking the other way when I did it.
EDIT: Wait, nevermind. While ultrablended, I put on a disguise then killed her. Came out of the disguise still ultrablended. I had totally forgot about this comment and put n the disguise just for fun.
I'm pretty sure you are the only person I know that uses the money pouch.
Some stats on this... there is a trophy for using 20 (JUST 20!) money pouches.
As of this morning, only 5.0% of players on PS4 have this trophy. something like 3.2% have every trophy in the game, so that's where the money pouch stands.
Okay, after some more testing, I have narrowed it down to just 4 steps:
1. Blend with a group.
2. Throw a money pouch.
3. Wait for the pretending to pick it up-animation to almost finish. I.e. Arno should almost bend his upper body to the ground, but not quite.
4. Run.
step 3 is not incorrect.
you just have to wait for the audio-visual clues that a money blend was started. in my quick 70k video above Arno doesn't even start to bend, but the money blend notification starts and I run out.
THANKS RACCOONSANDWICH!
Got the 70k in single person this last weekend, no glitch. Wasn't as fast as this video, but was much more satisfying to stake out guard routes, etc.
Well this kind of game is just busy with violence and bloodshed. I want to see a game that is silent and peaceful.
I didn't realize you were a spambot Georl. Here, have a ban as my gift to you.
I didn't realize you were a spambot Georl. Here, have a ban as my gift to you.
1. Where are the links? Isn't that what makes a spambot? Or did you remove them already?
2. Why did the programmer choose such a message?
3. How did you find the other message? Google?
I'm confused.
Georl's only other comment was this one which was ungrammatical but on topic.
There were no links. This has happened before. I'm not sure whether it's a spambot programming error (failure to deliver the payload) or a "long con" where the goal is to deposit a bunch of comments and later change the signature to a link when the admin isn't paying attention. Understand that spambots do link building for search engine optimization (SEO). They don't expect users to click on the links.
I found the other message with Google and so did the spambot. It uses keywords to search for a similar topic on another forum and then copies/pastes a comment from there to here.
