After being introduced to the series (well, I suppose re-introduced, seeing as how I played AC1 for about ten minutes once after it came out) by Double McStab with Cheese, I am, as the username indicates, plodding my way through the series, now working on Revelations (I'm somewhere in Sequence 3).
I used to be a big first-person shooter, mostly online, but once I realized that I didn't have enough time to stay competitive with those who spend hours upon hours improving techniques, I decided to move on (probably permanently) from the FPS world and back into the RPG one (I still rank Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for SNES as my all-time favorite game).
As far as my style, I like to build up a bankroll and unlock shops first. I'm definitely a more cautious player and will like to scope out areas of missions prior to undertaking them. I'm far more adept at missions whose 100% sync require taking little to no damage than I am at ones that give me a time limit (let's just say the "Wolves Among the Dead" mission from ACB wasn't exactly my favorite of the series). I'm definitely a full sync guy as I'm playing them, meaning I'll re-do a mission until I get it done properly before I move on, and have plans to go back to AC1 once I've finished and get all of the XBOX achievements (flags and Templars) in a new game, since mine glitched and didn't give me credit for collecting all 20 flags in Masyaf, but I couldn't do anything to get the 20th to respawn.
The site looks amazing and I can't wait to learn about the many, many things I've overlooked or never perfected and hopefully contribute something of my own (perhaps AC3 will provide that chance).
Thanks for all the work put in by everyone.
Great... first we have Double McStab w... ... and now we have TheMethodicalAs...
ps, it's about time...
Welcome, Method! (Please insist that we don't call you "Meth" )
I'd love to hear more about how you go about planning your missions and being all sneaky and stuff.
Welcome!
I too am a Full Syncher and I like the idea of contributing (though I haven't done so much of that lately, except for my most recent forum post).
I look forward to chatting with you and seeing what you can tell us
I definitely try to go about removing as much guard influence in the area as possible. On the first run throughs of games (which I'm doing now for Revelations), it's a bit more difficult seeing as how I don't necessarily know where the next mission will lead me, but I'll try to stretch the boundaries as much as possible to unlock viewpoints and Borgia Towers/Assassin's Dens so I've got clearer paths once I start. While I didn't get it done in a timely fashion in Brotherhood, I think I'm going to try to knock the guild missions out of the way early here to reap the benefits of the three sets of hire-able allies.
I'm really loving the feature of having Ottomans, Byzantines, and Templars fight one another when they all arrive at the same scene, seeing as how it often provides some simple avenues of escape (plus it's just entertaining to watch).
I haven't been at the series seriously for too long (a few months, really), so there's a lot to learn from you vets, plus if there's anything I notice as I'm playing I'll be happy to point it out.
Plus you're free to refer to me as whatever you'd like. I've heard most names based on my name, hair color (I'm a Ginger), to random ones. Pick something amongst yourselves that you can all agree on and that's what I'll go by.
I think what I'd call you most often is Methodical. As for me, I'm usually referred to as DAZ.
TheMethodicalAss it is. Haha.
AC3 looks to be big enough that everyone will have something to contribute. Just about a week until release and I'm pumped. To be honest, I might spend more time tracking and hunting than anything else. One of the first video games I ever seriously played was Deer Hunter 2. So maybe that's why I'm so nostalgic with that portion of the game.
But seriously...
Unfortunately, VR Training doesn't make a return
You do spend Sequence 1 Mission 1 doing some VR Training though (Rebecca patched the Animus to give us all the cool AC3 controls).
Guild Challenges are back, but they're called Club Challenges now. They're lots of fun.

Those are things I figured. I like the VR training leaderboards though... and I figured we'd get more animus controls... I'm excited about the new combat system of blocking then [insert next activity here].
The new combat system is very fun. If you haven't seen my thread already, feel free to go to Recent Posts and take a look at Assassin's Creed III (DAZ's experience).
I do think AC3 will give every one of us something to "specialize" in. The hunting in and of itself is a game. I wonder if Ubisoft channeled its inner-Oregon Trail and imposed a "You can only carry x pounds" of meat with you?
It's not in terms of weight, but certain kinds of items you can only carry certain amounts of. Skinning animals further will show a Notification acquiring the items, but they will not be added to your inventory.
So it'll work similarly to the bomb ingredients in Revelations then?
Also, sweet banner picture. When I stabbed Lucy in Brotherhood, my fiancee was in the background and looked at me and said, "Why did you just kill that woman?"
I didn't know what to tell her, seeing as how I didn't know the outcome. But Lucy was a bit annoying, I know I definitely pressed the "X" button when prompted to "Press Any Button."
Welcome, Method! I think you'll enjoy all the technical reports and discoveries of the assassins at THB. I myself have only been here for a short time (I think about a month) but there's plenty of content here for you to sift through. (JoeyFogey actually told me even he hasn't seen every post on here)
Ello
Thanks for the warm welcome all. I've already found the site both helpful and entertaining (Minerva getting knocked over was hilarious). I'm glad I was forewarned about the Piri Reis missions not automatically putting me back in his little cartography suite, since I was prepared for it, but it still kind of sucks. Fortunately there are viewpoints along the way to hit on my long trek back.
I'm hoping to finish ACR by the time AC3 is released, but it's not looking likely. I suppose I'll just be a bit behind the 8-ball when I finally boot it up.
AC:R is very short, Method.
You'll be okay

If it makes you feel any better, I pre-ordered the game and I don't even have a game system at the moment and I'll be starting from AC and running through the whole series to get ready for the third game, so I likely won't play for another 2 or 3 weeks. (I hope) Good luck completing ACR in time though Method

Thanks. I somehow managed to play for two hours last night without ever starting a mission, so I wasn't lying when I said I play through games slowly. Most of last night was experimenting with the bombs and seeing what works best for me and going through the Guild challenges to get them out of the way early. My thinking is that this Saturday and Sunday should provide ample gaming time to progress in the game, but I find myself in no particular hurry to get it done (even though we're less than five days from the release of the most anticipated masterpiece of the series).
True, and true! Oh, how I wish the games were MP campaign, you and me could clean an assassin tomb out quite effectively, and probably use all our preffered methods of attack (I like knives and daggers, maybe you're into stealth tools instead of maces and the like?)

That's because you don't need a game system, man. Just use your mind.
You don't have a game system? Abstergo has got you covered!

What McStab said epic. Also, The PS3 is gunna have to wait until next pay...but AC simply couldnt, so I'm going to wave it in front of my own face for a couple weeks first, then I'm sure I'll be plugged in and tuned out for several weeks. Can't wait!
Congrats to our very own TMA.
He has found his very own Myriam and will be wed tomorrow (probably not by Father Timothy).
Hopefully your Myriam shows up on time to the services so you don't have to send an Assassin after her.
I will now call you Norris, for the purposes of extending this analogy. So the first line of this post should read:
Congrats to our very own Norris.
This is how I will imagine you tomorrow:
