A few useful things you can do with the airwalk glitch. Thanks to Asaic for the tip about sprinting from viewpoint to viewpoint.
How to airwalk:
1. Don't install the patch from December 9-11, 2009. (If you've already installed it, remove it.)
2. Play through Sequence 3, Memory 3.
3. Purchase Flying Knives ability at the Training Ring.
4. Get on a roof with upright posture.
5. Equip Throwing Knives.
6. Start walking, running or sprinting toward the edge.
7. While still moving, hold down the Attack button.
8. Continue holding Attack while airwalking. You may release the other controls.
Ezio will continue to walk, run or sprint in a straight line. You can't change direction or speed while airwalking. Switch weapons or release the attack button to drop.
Hey, guys. I've updated this video with a new soundtrack. The original music was "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina and the Waves. It was eventually muted by YouTube because of a copyright.
The new music is... "Walking on Sunshine" by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. They're a punk supergroup (all members are in other bands) who only do covers of popular songs. Their uptempo version is considerably shorter than the original, so I edited the video to match.

That's weird. I just found out that this song was recorded by a band called Ghoti Hook. It's widely misattributed to Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. My latest video does contain an authentic Me First song.
Is there a point to downloading the patch? I haven't done it yet, and I'm enjoying the airwalking for now. It was great to go into the Palazzo Ducale, kill everybody inside, and then taunt the guards on the outside.
I also airwalked halfway from San Gimigiano to the villa, let go of x, and ended up swimming underneath the landscape for another few minutes before being desynchronized.
Yay! Finally a way to enter Palazzo Ducale!
Just to note, the airwalk will break when any of the following occur:
To avoid wasting throwing knives, simply switch weapons with the d-pad to end the airwalk once Ezio has reached stable ground. This will end the airwalk without throwing a knife.
Switching weapons is not the ideal way to end the airwalk when Ezio will be falling and needs to maneuver to land on or grab a ledge. Ending the airwalk via switching weapons will eliminate all forward momentum and causes Ezio to fall directly downward. Unless you end the airwalk in the perfect position, you can easily miss the ledge by mere inches and Ezio will plunge to desynchronization. However, simply releasing the attack button to end your airwalk will allow Ezio to briefly change direction before falling and he will retain some momentum in the process. This makes it far easier to reach the ledge you were aiming for.
To summarize, if your airwalk will end in a fall, end it by releasing the attack button. If your airwalk will end while Ezio is running across a stable surface (ie: a rooftop), switch weapons to end the airwalk instead.
Oh lawl, now another thing to add to my continuing list of things to do in my replay... xD
As always Stab, you did it again~
