Computer Programming and Graphic Designing
I know that not many people can relate to this topic, but I was wondering if anybody out there on this website takes programming/web designing as a hobby? I'm trying to design a website so I can show off my graphic design portfolio to any clients. I'm in my senior year in high school, and college is approaching at an alarming rate. I think I might major in Computer Science or Graphic Design. I currently know...

..and I'm thinking of expanding my palette by learning JavaScript, Python, C, C++, and HTML 5. Now, its pretty common knowledge that almost everyone learns their coding at http://www.w3schools.com/. But I was just wondering if they're any good sites out there?
I'm studying Graphic Design, but I can't help with any technical or advanced aspects. Also, the programming part I have no part in at all. There are a few programmers on here, both professionally and for fun. If I'm thinking of the same thing, that is.

Projecteuler.net for all your programming. I have never read a book on Python, never completed a course (except for the crap they taught us at highschool, which I already knew), but I'm a fairly good programmer in Python, and it's all thanks to Project Euler. I've nearly solved 75 problems on there, so they are difficult, but it teaches you how to program well, because otherwise your programs won't run in time.
And if you don't want to solve mathematical problems, I have only one recommendation: practice, practice and practice. You don't learn how to program by reading a book. It doesn't work that way.
Also, Arrrogance, C++ is an alright language. You just have to learn to work with the API's.
If anything I'm going into Graphic Design, don't have a want or need to learn programming. My friend uses Python and he says its good
Python is good for some things, but if you really want to make programs that do something else than just calculations, you should learn something like C or C++.
