What really happened to Altair's Armor?

Was it destroyed, or just buried in the rubble from the villa attack?

I've watched the video of the cannonball shot in slo-mo. To me it looks like it just scatters the armor and that it could be salvaged again.

What do you all think?

I think that Altair didn't wear any armor.

I think he meant Altaïr's armor that Ezio discovers in ACII, not the outfit he wears in AC1.

I think it was seriously damaged but not irreparable. And it looks like Ezio is wearing it when Desmond sees his "ghost" in the sanctuary at the beginning of ACB.

If he finds Altair's apple at Masyaf, he could make a new version or repair it.

IMO, That scene of Ezio returning to the sanctuary will happen in Revelations, BUT, Ezio will be wearing his new outfit. The reason that Ezio is using the Altair's Armor in that scene on Brotherhood is because Ubi didn't know what outfit Ezio would use at the moment, so they just put the Altair's Armor.

If they didn't know what he would be wearing in that scene, they would have showed him in plain clothes or some cloak that could have been mistaken for his Brotherhood's outfit. They also could have made him even more blurry so that we don't see what he was wearing at all. What I'm saying is, anything would have looked credible, so why choose the one armor that got destroyed, knowing full well that a lot of people would recognize it?

Hmm... good point. Wink
So maybe Ezio will repair the armor or maybe he will find a Codex made by Altair that shows how to make the Armor.

Isn't Altaïr's apple the one that Ezio sealed under the colosseum ?

I was just going by Yurkle's plot idea. I could see them being different apples.

Maybe Ezio just cashed in some UPlay points and got the Altair Armor skin.

Brotherhood actually introduced continuity errors when it comes to the Apples.

In AC1, we're told by Lucy that the Apple was destroyed during the DIA Incident.

In AC2, we're told via the Codex that Altair wanted to hide the Apple away on the island of Cyprus, in the stronghold they took over there. We're never told if it actually got there, but later in the game the Templars return on a boat from Cyprus to Venice, with an Apple in their possession.

Yet in AC:Brotherhood, we're shown that that Apple is perfectly intact, and has been hidden away for centuries.

There are actually quite a few apples. Check out the AC wiki page and it lists them all.

Indeed there are. But then again, there's these conversation:

# Desmond: Well, it looking like it's at Masyaf. So I don't know why they're wasting all this time with me. Why don’t they just send their people to pick it up?
# Lucy: They can’t... it’s not that simple. The artifact from Masyaf... they had it. It was destroyed in the accident.

...

# Desmond: What does “Everything's Denver” mean?
# Lucy: It means everything’s fine.
# Desmond: Why Denver?
# Lucy: It's a reference to Denver International Airport. There's an underground facility there. It's where the accident happened.

And this from an email from Alan Rikkin:

1. Piece of Eden (no. 3) - We applaud your continued efforts to locate an alternate artifact following the loss of no. 2 in the DIA Satellite Accident.

If PE2 is the Apple that Altair used, then the numbers that ACWiki uses are wrong.

And again, it could be a thing that will be explained in Revelations.

Altair's apple was actually not destroyed, it was an error that Lucy said it was. Lucy wasn't exactly a high-ranking templar, I'm sure that she just didn't get all the info.

Altair's apple was the same one as Ezio's.

the posts a bit guy

If Ezio's apple was the same one as Altair's, then it's true;

The apple never falls far from the tree. At least not Desmond's tree.

The AC.wikia states that Ezio POSSIBLY salvaged it after he dropped Cesare from a 100 foot wall.

If that's true, then why didn't he wore it during his pilgrimage towards Masyaf? Maybe he wanted to wear something different.

The Revelations uniform looked to be warmer than the Brotherhood outfit. Since Masyaf was in the mountains, he probably planned for the cold?

Huh. That would explain the fur padding on his left shoulder and his cape.
