I just upgraded some of the site's modules (those with potential security vulnerabilities) and now our user pictures aren't displaying properly above forum posts. I'm working on this.

Any other problems? Please report them here or send me a private message.

Alright. The user pictures are back. I know it looks a little different but this is the standard layout of the latest author pane module. It's more compact than the old one. I think I like it better.

The problem was an interaction of several things. First, I upgraded the author pane module to fix a security vulnerability. It's a small module so I didn't expect any problems. Naturally, there was a problem! It was incompatible with the old version of the advanced forum module. Now that's a big one. I crossed my fingers and upgraded the forum module also. That fixed the author pane but clobbered a couple of customizations I had made long ago: display of gender and location. Finally, I customized the new forum module to show these statistics of vital importance.

That will teach me not to update the live site anymore. We now have enough space to run a mirror site for tests. I haven't gotten around to setting it up and writing the revised upgrade procedure.

Have the post numbers always been as they currently are or has it changed recently (can't say I've looked closely before)?

At the moment, each post is numbered #1, #2 etc. and on each new thread page the numbers reset back to #1 rather than continuing to #51, #52 etc. and then #101, #102 etc.

So has it always been like this?

I think it's been able to continue numbers for each page (#51, #101, etc). Am I wrong about this?

Yeah, I thought that too. It's stopped doing it now though.

I've had a little problem. The Assassin's Creed Revelations forum keeps showing me that I have 14 unread posts. I keep clicking on "Mark all as Read" but it doesn't really fix the problem. Just a little concern, nothing really troublesome.

Fixed. This was a known bug with the new version of the forum module.

I'm still looking into the "mark all as read" issue.

I also fixed the author pane again. It should now look similar to the way it was before.

It's really nice, stab. The author pane was a bit confusing in the first change, but it's way better now.

This is what happens when I customize a module for THB. Future updates to that module either clobber my customizations or become incompatible. I keep notes on every change and manually merge them after upgrades. There must be a better way. I'm looking for a "best practices" document on this topic.
