The most frequently asked question in all of Assassin's Creed II: how to climb the tower in the Acre dream sequence. Lots of players get stuck on the balcony with the lantern. This video shows two ways to climb the balcony in AC2 and a third way that only works in AC1. Shock

I guess it worked for me the first time, because I try to do things the first playthrough realistically (like Asaic) but stylized as well, as if the character knows exactly what they're capable of and what would make sense if they used their full potential. As a result of this, I used the advanced wall run. Smile

I can't even remember how I did it as it just didn't seem an issue...? Not sure if it worked "normally" or I did the first way (below the beam) which, to me, seems a logical way to climb it. Advanced Wall Run is a good way though. can you do those in AC1? I can't remember Tongue

"Stuck on Memory Block 4" was clearly the most frequently asked question in AC1. I've been keeping an eye out for FAQs on AC2 and this one emerged as the winner. FAQ videos are a good advertising tool for THB. If you see someone ask a question on another forum about climbing a tower, please post a direct link to this story (or one of the other two as appropriate).

Yes, members of The Hidden Blade aren't flummoxed by an advanced wall run. Noobs are a different story. They can get to this point in the game without learning either of the parkour moves necessary to complete it. That's understandable.

You won't even feel the blade.

The issue with this spot stems from the game not cooperating with the more simple/traditional ways of grabbing this pole. For example, if you jump from a certain spot, it forces you into an angle that causes you to miss the post even though you shouldn't.

Like stabby said, the more interesting ways work and if you did that then you wouldn't have had an issue. Some of the more basic methods don't work, however.

If I had the time I'd make a video showing the ways which don't work (but should). Smile

I never knew why this was so hard. Just run up the side of it and jump to the beam. I did that my first time without even trying to jump directly up.
