William of Montferrat SuperFast Blitz

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X31O38Jpyw0
[Front-paged - stabguy]

A superfast blitz on William is possible because of how the game works. When you get to the assassination jump from a certain spot on a roof to grasp the edge of a railing and pull yourself up. The scene won't start because you're not in an upright position. Jump from railing to railing and other structures to get near the gate entrance of the citadel. When you reach this destination and Altair is standing the scene will start and you are in the huddle of William, King Richard, and other soldiers. You can now walk inside the citadel to where William will appear after the scene. The camera view will focus on the scene outside, so steering your way in there can be tricky. You'll know if you've reached the target's room because there are two guards posted on either side of the entrance outside of it. Stand behind the table on the far side of the room and wait for William to appear by it after the scene ends, mashing the assassinate button. You know what happens next- William gets owned!!! This video shows how to assassinate Tamir by popping out of a haystack and then immediately hiding back in the same haystack.

Version 2.0 contains updated blitzes of Tamir, Abu'l, Majd, Jubair, Maria, Robert and Al Mualim.

Blitz assassinations of all the main targets. The concept of this style is to assassinate as quickly as possible, while remaining Anonymous before the kill on certain targets: Tamir, Garnier de Naplouse, Abu'l Nuqoud, Majd Addin, William de Montferrat, Jubair Al Hakim and Sibrand.

Step by step instructions on how to assassinate Robert de Sable very quickly:

  1. Before the assassination go into Options, Controls and turn on the "Hold Trigger to Lock" option.
  2. Step into the circle of Templars and get in Robert's face.
  3. When Robert says "To arms, assassin.", push the Left Thumbstick northwest.
  4. Upon the first white flash, press D-pad up to select the Hidden Blade.
  5. Wait about 1/4 second before pressing the attack button.
    1. You only get one shot at this per Memory Block playthrough. If you die and reload, Robert is already safely behind the blue memory wall.

I saved William de Montferrat for last in Memory Block 4 because many players like to use Throwing Knives on this mission and Altaïr can carry 10 at a time if he's already finished off Abu'l Nuqoud and Majd Addin.

The Montferrat assassination seems to be Ubisoft's crown jewel of ASSASSIN'S CREED. It was the one they would always show in pre-release demos, so it must have been the first one that they developed. As such it feels more polished than some of the other missions. In fact, I think they added air to assassinate late in the development cycle and simultaneously placed a scaffold next to William.
