Just for fun.

In general you can't never catch up with the Royal Fortune on foot cause ubisoft forbides you to jump when you are near it. At here i found a way to catch it purely on foot. What's weird is that I found Roberts frozen there and can not be killed or I can make a Early Death Big smile

...I didn't see Roberts?

Pezzo de under02! How did you know what my next video will be? But good job finding it yourself. What I'm interested in is how you managed to lock the timer to prevent from desynching.

...I didn't see Roberts?

He's on the edge of a mast the whole time after he escapes on the ship.

My vid is a bit different because I manage to jump onto the mast like Roberts. Also I found a way to prevent from desynching after the timer runs out. Video will be made public in a little bit.

One thing I heard is if you take out everyone on a ship beforehand it only takes one cannon shot to board it. Have you tried this or are you unable to proceed in the game?

Something like that is true of Legendary Ships. I confirmed it with El Impoluto. Actually, I found that you only have to kill the captain. Then you can go back to the Jackdaw and sink El Impoluto with a single shot or ram.

Preboarding Legendary Ships is a well-documented exploit that was not discovered by a member of The Hidden Blade. So I didn't bother posting a video here.

You won't even feel the blade.

Whoa whoa, wait a second, you managed to board El Impoluto? How in the seven hells did you manage that? O.o

It's very simple.

Here's how it's done:

1. Mark El Impoluto on the map.
2. Release your wheel (hold B or O) before you're 563m away from El Impoluto.
3. Wait for El Impoluto's coming/ram.
4. Seize the chance to jump on it or you can't climb it when you're in water. Better jump from a high stop like the top of your Jackdaw.
5. Kill all the guards on El Impoluto no one can be left even the shooter because only when there's no guard on the ship will it be one-hit killed.
6. Hit it in whatever way you like.

The same can be used in boarding any other legendary ships. You need a video tutorial? Just ask!

Damn... I legitimately hypothesized the pre-boarding of legendary ships here and never got it to work... maybe later i'll try to find those posts. (but i'm bummed no one linked the video in the reply to something i tried and never got to work...)

EDIT: here is the discussion we had about pre-boarding legendary ships one week after the game came out: http://thehiddenblade.com/assassins-creed-iv-review?page=1#comment-32750

not sure where the followup discussion is where i described what i tried and how it didn't work...

So did you use Cheat Engine or a trainer to pause the timer? I have mixed feelings about things like that. There are things that can easily be confirmed with hacks and cheats, things I can only hope to find out, so I welcome using those for finding out stuff. But on the other hand I prefer exploiting the game with what the mechanics have to offer, which makes it truly feel like exploits.

I was wondering how you got the timer to stop as well.

Like under said. On step 4 I've only had success jumping from the tip of the Jackdaw's prow.

Conventional wisdom on step 5 is that you must kill everyone on board. I disagree. After killing just the captain I was able to one-hit sink El Impoluto.

Maybe under02 was referring to regular ships. And speaking of Cheat Engine, it can help confirm a couple of interesting things for some of the AC games, if any of you PC gamers are interested (you know you want to, you know you want to).
